  1. Yes, last year they closed many stores, but they are doing a little better than Sears. The problem is most of the JCPenny and Sears stores are attached to malls and malls are not as popular as they used to be.

  3. Right. I read an article last year about the downfall of Sears. In it, a college professor asked his students if they ever shopped at Sears and several of them didn't know what a Sears was. Today's young people don't shop at these big department stores

  4. yes, their stores are outdated, some look run down, and poor customer service is why no shops there anymore
