  1. true. We don't know how reliable or how long these safety features will last - pre-collison system with emergency braking, lane departure alert/keeping and radar cruise control. Some manufactures had problems with rear back up camera which is required by law.

  3. Lee Iacocca though the minivan would replace the station wagon. Lee Iacocca first had the idea for the minivan when he was working at Ford. Ford executives rejected that idea, so when Chrysler hired him he took his minivan idea to Chrysler. Unfortunately, SUVs have become more popular now. GM and Ford canceled their minivans a decade ago. Today only 4 minivans are sold in the USA from Chrysler, Toyota, Honda and Kia. Minvans do offer several advantages over SUVs as they are car based where as the SUV is truck-based and bigger ones get lower fuel economy. Not all SUVs are 3 rows

  5. Starting in the 1990s, cars started having computers. Now modern cars have allot more electronics and tech. Also, automakers use term called "planned obsolescence" which means they don't make their cars last a very long time as the old days

  7. GM and Ford don't want to make small cars and sedans because they are less profitable then SUVs. They just want to make big expensive SUVs and trucks as they are more profitable

  8. The Japanese automakers have a quality philosophy that GM, Ford & Chrysler don't follow. GM, Ford & Chrysler are more interested in making higher profits and cutting costs at the expense of quality

  9. 2024 marked the 40th anniversary of the minivan, but sadly Chrysler (now owned by Stellantis) canceled the Dodge Caravan. Chrylser which is now struggling needs to update their minivan as the Pacifica is aging. Also, Chrysler suffers poor quality and reliability where as the Toyota Sienna is better built and more reliable
