GM and Ford discontinued making minivans leaving Chrysler the only American automaker to make a minivan. Nissan & Mazda also stop making minivans.

After being fired from Ford, Lee Iacocca brought his K-car and minivan idea to Chrysler. Henry Ford II didn't get along with Lee Iacocca and fired him. My father had a 1986 Dodge Carvan

Toyota has been making the Corolla for 57 years
9
Toyota builds their cars to be durable and last a long time. THey are focused on good quality until like GM, Ford & Chrysler who are focused on increasing profits an reducing manufacturing costs at the expense of quality
4
The Corolla was know as boring, basic transportation. The 2020 redesign made it more stylish.
4
Old days seats on minivans were heavy. Chrysler was the one who invented sto and go seats on its minivan. Of course, Toyota is much more reliable then Chrysler
2
On the old Civic, the infotainment screen is at angle which causes sun glare, but in the new Civic it stands straight and higher which is nice
2
One advantage Toyota has over Honda is that the safety sense package comes standard whereas on the Civic some of those safety features are optional. But the Corolla was missing blind spot monitoring that the Civic has. Also, The Corolla has better, brighter headlights then the Civic according to the IIHS.

Minivans have many advantages over SUVs/crossovers. However, many automakers don't want to make them because they aren't as expensive as big SUVs and those SUVs generate more profit for them. GM and Ford just want to make big expensive SUVs so they can make more profit
1
The only 4 minivans currently offered in the United States are made by Chrysler, Toyota, Honda and Kia. Chrysler introduced the minivan 40 years ago
1
Last year Stellantis cancelled the Dodge Caravan on its 40th anniversary. Since Stellantis has owned Chrysler they haven't come out with any new Chrysler or Dodge models and have cancelled the Chrysler and Dodge sedans. The Dodge Hornet is a Alfa Romeo
1
@KristoferOlsson Chrysler and Dodge have suffered from poor quality and reliability. They went downhill after Lee Iacocca left. After going bankrupt in 2009, Chrysler was forced to merge with Fiat
1
The new Civic looks as big as the Accord. As smaller cars and coupes are not as popular in the USA, they have discontinued
1
Toyota has the most reliable CVT, the Honda Civic has had some transmission problems
1
Remember the Pontiac Aztec? It was a failure for GM when led to the end of Pontiac
1
Chrysler & Dodge are struggling because Stellantis has killed off several models and hasn't introduced any new models.
1
Toyota had those safety features standard on the Corolla first as the Honda Civic it was optional and the Corolla had led headlights first
1
Stalantis which owns Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep discontinued the Dodge Caravan last year
1
Since Chrysler became FiatChrysler, they are no longer an American company and have not come with any new American cars. The Hornet is an Alfa Romeo. American's dont't want Italian junk
1
Americans don't want Italian junk. Stellantis doesn't seem to understand that
1
Theat Corona looks to be a little smaller then the Corolla
1
The problem with the BRZO app is that it is not available for Android. Do not promote iOS only apps. That have to be for Android, so that we can chose what device to use them and not be forced to use Apple devices
1
Unfortunately, at 132 hp, the Corolla has the slowest engine in the compact car segment. But the Corolla is more safe, reliable and costs less
1
Toyota makes safety sense standard, while some of the features are optional on the Civic
1
Richard Favreau True. They only had problems with the 2019 Corolla Hatchback which they recalled to fix
1
@gs98999 IIHS rates the Corolla's headlights better than the Civic. They are brighter then the Civic. Standard is Automatic High beams. The high beams will go on and off as necessary when it detects other cars in front of you
1
@williamfrench9973 wow I didn't know they were so popular. Toyota has the most reliable minivan in the USA. There are only 4 minivans sold in the USA - Chrysler Pacificia, Honda Odyssey, Toyota Sienna and Kia Carnival (formerly Sedona)
1
Toyota is the more reliable minivan. Toyota is known for their legendary reliability, something Chrysler doesn't have. I don't like Toyota putting big ugly grills on all their models. Some people don't like CVTs and would rather have a regular automatic transmission
1
Plus it's more safer. It's the only car that has these safety standard at a low price. The Corolla has the most reliable CVT transmission
1
I was talking about the Corolla. It has safety features standard across all trim levels - the only manufacturer to do this. Also, the Corolla does well in IIHS crash tests and has very bright led headlights. Not that the Jetta isn't safe because it is
1
Toyota needs to add Android Auto. The Honda Civic has Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, whereas the Toyota Corolla does not. They added Apple CarPlay in the new 2020 Corolla, but still no Android Auto. I'm frustrated that Toyota has refused to support Android Auto and I want it my 2018 Corolla. Toyota Corolla is one of the only compact sedans that didn't have it and that is why some bought the Honda Civic.
1
Looks like the rear seat is a little more cramped then the previous generation Corolla
1
When GM went bankrupt in 2009, they had too many brands so they dropped Pontiac, Saab, Saturn, and Hummer to focus on their 4 core brands - GMC, Chevy, Buick and Cadillac. Unfortunately, Chevy's quality has fallen
