Pretty sure this fantasy world has already been portrayed in Mad Max. Somebody should tell this guy to go watch Thunderdome or Fury Road if he wants to see what his utopia would look like.

Pretty sure that caller thought he was also redeeming economic Libertarianism. This is already feeling like Groundhog Day.

Pretty ironic considering these economic Libertarians are pushing for the most cruel system that would negatively effect the most people, especially non-property owners. But hey, taxes are what are really "immoral", not human suffering, desperate financial struggle, or chaotic dystopian futures where everything is run by feudal armies all vying for power and control of a decentralized society.

That's not really an opinion that is exclusive to people that label themselves as "libertarians". Most self-proclaimed progressives or "populist Left" individuals believe there should be no restrictions on personal freedoms aka (for example) end the drug war and legalize, tax and regulate all drugs and alcohol. Unfortunately when people call themselves Libertarians nowadays, they're usually referring to being economic Libertarians. When you deregulate the government and markets though, you're usually just ultimately just taking away more freedoms for people by giving police forces and corporations/monopolies more "freedom" and wiggle room to price gouge, deceive, pollute, and extort average citizens. This is why libertarian Leftists and the more anarcho-Capitalist type Libertarians disagree so widely on economic policy.

@jameslane2326 I just responded to you in another thread on this same issue. You don't have to be a self-labeled Libertarian just to believe there should be complete personal freedom. If anything, economic Libertarianism only ensures average citizens have less personal freedom when you allow corporations to have more "freedom", which they ultimately just use to extort and price gouge Americans more (foreclosing on their houses for example) while polluting their communities. You're right that those people are confused if they actually prioritize personal freedoms over freedom of the market, but unfortunately most people referring to themselves as Libertarians these days are people like this guy in the video.
