"Change in platform"? It was a 9 second clip on CNN that was far more 'pro-Democrat' than it was backing Cuomo who she just referred to as 'the governor'. It's Jimmy Dore and solely Jimmy Dore who decided to take the time on his show to focus on discrediting her even though she actually endorsed Cynthia Nixon and campaigned for her for MONTHS, lent her Cortez's volunteers and now some 9 second statement on CNN means more than having all the right policy positions and all the right goals? This isn't purism anymore, it's just nonsense and I don't see any difference between Andrew Cuomo saying "The progressive movement in the Democratic is nothing more than a ripple" compared to Jimmy Dore saying "This is why the movement in the Democratic won't work and is a waste of time. We need a new party". Seriously, what is the difference there? They're both clearly trying to inhibit the progress of progressives taking over the Democratic Party. Also, micro-analyzing every single thing Cortez says on MSM is how the establishment freaked out and started smearing her over saying "the occupation of Palestine". I don't see how any of this is helping the cause.

Cortez's own campaign (which is made up of Green Party members) has rejected that her 9 second clip on CNN somehow is a full throat "endorsement". Jimmy Dore made that up and is the ONLY person claiming it as an "endorsement". Try to find anyone else making that claim. Cortez endorsed and campaigned for Nixon for MONTHS to BEAT Cuomo. Jimmy is just trying to blow up the entire Justice Democrats movement and it's fucking pathetic. He hasn't been supportive of Cortez ever since her primary win, go back and watch his pessimistic coverage of the night her, Ben Jealous and many other progressives won their primaries.

Jimmy Dore uses this as a way to discredit all Justice Democrats, Our Revolution and PCCC candidates and tell everyone to stop wasting time with progressive Democrats because they'll endorse their own party and make Jimmy angry. Cortez campaigned for Nixon for MONTHS and worked her ass off to BEAT Andrew Cuomo, that should be worth a lot more than a 9 second clip on CNN that Jimmy Dore dissects and claims is a full throat "endorsement" when it was simply the mentioning of all Democratic backing.

+tcorangemen - Cortez, Ben Jealous and all the other Justice Democrat, Our Revolution, and PCCC candidates that won that night were progressives. You and Jimmy care about party labels far too much for your own good.

Jimmy just used a 9 second clip on CNN to try to discredit the entire progressive takeover of the Democratic Party. There are 25 other Justice Democrats after Ocasio-Cortez, are they all suddenly worthless now because Jimmy says we shouldn't support them in the party? His framing is absolute horseshit and that of a smear merchant.

I don't even like Sam Seder and disagree with him on numerous things, but I've been watching Jimmy completely devolve into a HA Goodman or Dave Rubin over the past year. He's now criticizing (and smearing) progressive candidates more than the time he ever gives to criticizing Trump, the GOP or nearly anyone on the right who own every single branch of government and run the current establishment.

That's my biggest problem with Jimmy. His strategy is the weakest possible strategy by far. He's put literally no thought into his "new party" strategy, and if you're going to absolutely go third party, you might as well go Green since they already have ballot access in 48 states and some power at the state level, which took them decades to get. Now though, it seems he just wants to shame everyone for supporting the Dem or Green parties in electing progressive candidates and keep doing it until they all give up and do his idea of starting a new party. It's just getting ridiculous at this point especially since we're 2 years away from the 2020 election and Bernie has a huge chance of winning on the Dem ticket already.

Going after progressive Democrats for things they didn't even do is the problem here. Andrew Gillum STILL supports Medicare-for-All even if Jimmy is nervous he might change his mind maybe, and Cortez's campaign has rejected that her 9 second backing of the Democratic Party "including the governor" somehow translates to a full throat "endorsement" as Jimmy claimed. But Jimmy clearly goes out of his way to try to smear these two people when not even MSM is smearing them in this way or any other media channel. Jimmy doesn't like the Democratic Party plain and simple and thus he doesn't like Cortez and Justice Democrats who give hope in reforming the Democratic Party. If you don't see that then you're blind.

He's becoming Dave Rubin or HA Goodman. It's obvious as fuck. When you critique progressives more than Trump and the GOP you know there is something off.

What does that make Jimmy then for attacking Ocasio-Cortez, one of the leaders of the progressive left?
4
You're probably not. People love to comment about fake unsubscribing.

I think it's important to point out that Jimmy Dore would rather make a 22 minute long video needlessly trashing progressives championing the movement in mainstream press vs making 1 video or even 1 comment on the current Supreme Court pick that's being forced onto the American people that will pass extremely pro-Corporate legislation into law (like Citizens United) for potentially decades to come that would effectively make corporations unstoppable.

I'm neither a Jimmy Dore or Sam Seder fan, and I agreed with Sam on this issue before he even did this videos. When Jimmy attacked Ocasio-Cortez, Justice Democrats, PCCC, Our Revolution, and Bernie (on several occasions), he has constantly shown his lack of support for progressives and his lack of caring for if we actually win with a progressive in 2018 or 2020. There have been historic wins for progressives within the Democratic Party this year and Jimmy tries to discredit it the same way Andrew Cuomo belittles it as a 'ripple'. I'm pissed off when Andrew Cuomo says it and I'm disappointed when Jimmy says it. He's only ever helping the establishment by telling people to stop supporting progressives in their takeover of the Democratic Party.

Your right. I've tried to continue to watch the JD Show, but it just gets harder and harder as time goes by. He barely ever criticizes Trump and the GOP who run the entire establishment right now and all branches of government. When he makes one video out of 1,000 actually criticizing something like Trump's immigration policy, his fans go nuts and start ripping Jimmy apart and say shit like "Jimmy's a sell out now" and "You're no better than TYT". He gets massive pushback from his conservative viewers for any type of balanced criticism.
3
+tcorangement - Most people don't watch Jimmy for his comedy. I mean, the guy was a failed comedian before BernieOrBust made his show relevant. He talked about it on Joe Rogan. Now all he ever does is shit on Bernie.
3
+boggisthecat - It matters when Jimmy presents his show as the 'ultimate anti-establishment channel' yet fails to even criticize our current right-wing establishment and dumpster fire president.
3
What did he say that mischaracterized him? Serious question. I think the main point he should've gone into more was how Jimmy was using the minor fuckups of 1-2 progressive Democratic to basically discredit the entire takeover of the Democratic Party and how it "won't work and it's a waste of time", when Jimmy's solution of a 'new party' idea is essentially the weakest strategy overall after the Democratic Party takeover or supporting the Green Party.
2
Jimmy is the only one who claims he's a "progressive" when in fact, he's closer to HA Goodman and Dave Rubin than he is to being a real progressive. A "progressive" who constantly smears other progressives running for government. Doesn't matter what their party affiliation is, they support progressive policies and progressive ideas. Fuck your labels.
2
+CJ Laity - That's a great point. I think it's important to highlight how Jimmy would rather make a 22 minute trashing on progressive Democrats championing the movement in mainstream press instead of making even 1 video or even 1 comment about the Supreme Court pick who is going to push extremely pro-Corporate legislation (like Citizens United) into law to the point where corporations will become essentially unstoppable in the future.
1
+boggisthecat - Watch Kyle Kulinski. He ACTUALLY criticizes both parties, knows what he's talking about, and has an actual perspective on how to win with passing progressive policy with a progressive government. Jimmy is a fucking hack and just tells his viewers what they want to hear. Democrats bad, Hillary bad, Obama bad, blah blah blah. Meanwhile you have Trump and the GOP steering the planet directly into the Sun.

Purple NurpleĀ - His rant in the Ocasio-Cortez and Gillum video alone proves he is clearly NOT for the "All the Above" approach. He's telling people to #walkaway and leave the Democratic Party, even for Justice Democrats like Ocasio-Cortez or Our Revolution candidates like Gillum even though he still supports Medicare-for-All and his policy positions haven't changed. If you leave the Democratic Party, you can't vote for progressive Democrats in primaries (where your vote counts most), whereas if you ACTUALLY are for the "all of the above" strategy, you would be registered as a Democrat so you can vote in the primary and then also vote for Independents or Greens in the general if you're in a unique district where an Independent has a chance at winning. I know this, because it is my personal approach. It doesn't take a genius to figure it out. If Jimmy is telling people to turn their backs on any candidate that's a Democrat no matter what, then he's by definition not for the "All the Above" approach. I'll remind you the entire POINT of supporting progressive Democrats is to force out the corporate Democrats and gain a majority in the party, which is actually happening compared to Jimmy's 'new party'.
