  1. If you watch (or read) the series The Expanse, they already do this in the near future, where oxygen costs people and communities money on space stations that are operated by corporations. The lower classes and all their children end up getting some long term version of hypoxemia where people grow up to have weak immune system, frail bones, disfigurement, and sometimes leading to early deaths. You can bet your ass that if corporations could contain oxygen on Earth (so people couldn't just breath it for free) they would do it and monetize it in a heartbeat.
