Bernie has since made a statement that said that "anti-semitism" does not equal legitimate criticisms of Israel and Netanyahu's far-right regime. This led to the other 2020 hacks like Kamala releasing a statement after Bernie did the courageous thing in being the first to step up to her defense when nobody else would.

@ryan_806 He literally said that we anti-semitism is not equal to "legitimate criticism of the right-wing, Netanyahu government in Israel". What more do you want from him? He CLEARLY supports Omar on this, that's the whole point of saying that and why everyone on Twitter in her defense has said nearly the exact same thing.

@ryan_806 I think it's ridiculously unrealistic of you to claim "it wasn't enough" given the fact that it would've been better for Bernie politically if he had not said anything.

@ryan_806 You "hold Bernie to a high standard" yet completely fail to give him praise after he's done something right. His statement highlighted that anti-semitism is not the same as realistic criticisms of the far-right Netanyahu regime in Israel. Also, unlike everyone else, Bernie is 99% Ashkenazi Jewish and he's running for president of the US and can't afford to give polarizing political statements. He did it anyway besides those two facts and managed to be the first one to speak out on it in the strongest rhetoric out of any politician. If you consider saying "it's not enough" to holding him to a high standard, then I guess you have some ridiculously unrealistic standards for politicians, because Bernie's response was near perfect for a politician.
