  1.  @JG-zu5wc  It's not totally free, but it's slave wages (like a $1 a day type shit) that is completely negligible compared to the amount of mass profit the prison complexes make from their labor. I remember when ICE forced its detainees to do free labor without even slave wages and they got taken to court (and lost) over literal slavery charges. Giving them pennies is the way the prison industry makes mass profits while also quietly getting away with their own versions of modern slavery. It's no wonder the prison lobbies incentivize for more criminals to be locked up. More ppl incarcerated = more profits for them. It's an insanely broken system.
