Yes & Bernie also updated AOC's Green New Deal. Does no one here understand this? AOC's 2018 proposal was simply a resolution & blueprint. When progressive politicians refer to the Green New Deal nowadays they're usually referring to Bernie's updated version, which is a more complete piece of legislation & something AOC herself has touted. Is Howie Hawkins going to now claim Bernie stole his Green New Deal? This whole argument is absurd & most people arguing are woefully uneducated on the policy specifics.

People have been going off Bernie's updated version of AOC's proposal for over a year now, the legislation that both Dems & Republicans have been bashing as "too expensive" nonstop since the primary. AOC literally endorsed Bernie for the reason that he updated her resolution into a more complete version. Bernie's updated version of her proposal bans fracking so this tantrum by Howie Hawkins & other mindless Green Party enthusiasts is a moot point when you factor in the past year & a half.

It's really disappointing hearing everyone talking about this subject & not even acknowledging that AOC's proposal has since been updated by Bernie Sanders in the 2020 primary, something AOC touts herself now. When AOC introduced the GND in 2018, it was simply a blueprint for what was to come. He's referring to an outdated version from 2018 that was even criticized at the time for being incomplete. Bernie updated the GND over a year ago into a more complete piece of legislation & yes, it bans fracking. This argument is absolutely fucking pointless, & Hawkins just sounds like an uneducated child. For the past year, Republicans & corporate Dems have been bashing Bernie's version so why is Hawkins pretending like AOC's old 2018 resolution is the standard now? She's literally touted Bernie's version herself, & it's the reason she endorsed him for president.

"AOC's version" is not even the current version of the Green New Deal people refer to. Bernie updated the Green New Deal into a more complete piece of legislation over a year ago (which yes, bans fracking) & Hawkins is acting like it's 2018 & AOC just released her resolution that was already criticized for being incomplete at the time.

The problem is that he's going off AOC's incomplete initial resolution from 2018 & pretending like Bernie Sanders & his team never updated the Green New Deal into a more complete piece of legislation - the thing Dems & Republicans have been bashing for over a year now for being "too expensive" & smearing that it will bankrupt the country. & yes, it DOES ban fracking, part of the reason politicians take shots at it.

Bernie Sanders updated AOC's initial proposal over a year ago now. Hawkins is pretending & acting like this is not the case when Dems & Republicans are literally referring to Bernie's updated version when they argue over it & bash the GND for being "too expensive". The current GND already bans fracking, is more complete than the original blueprint resolution from 2018, & covers more areas than the 2018 proposal. Hawkins is either playing dumb to win cheap political points or he's woefully ignorant on the policy specifics & what Democrats have been debating over for months, maybe years now.

I'm saying that it matters Hawkins gets his facts straight about what's he's criticizing, considering AOC has been touting Bernie's updated version of the GND ever since she endorsed him in the presidential primary. For the past year & a half, Republicans, corporate Dems, & Leftist politicians like AOC, Ro Khanna, Jayapal, Omar, etc. have been citing the cost estimates, timeline, & policy points within Bernie & AOC's updated version that was released last year - a piece of a legislation that outright calls for a "Ban on fracking and mountaintop removal coalmining." Hawkins arguing with AOC's initial proposal from 2017-18' that was incomplete & far more like a blueprint than any serious piece of legislation, is borderline strawmanning on his part. He's not representing his "opponent's" position accurately & going off outdated & incomplete info. The way he's going about his criticism is either disingenuous or ignorant when you take into considering what AOC actually believes & their team's current iteration of the GND. There is already more than enough B.S. & misinformation regarding the Green New Deal, we don't need a Green candidate taking shots at an outdated & already highly criticized rollout of the GND before it was properly fleshed out into a far more complete piece of legislation.

It goes without saying there need to be lines drawn against people like Joe Biden & other corporate Dems, but Howie Hawkins was intentionally doing this towards some of, if not the most Leftist politicians in federal gov't. I don't see that as being in anyway helpful, specifically because he doesn't have his facts right & his criticisms are not valid or up-to-date. That is all that I was saying.

I'm tired of repeating myself. I constantly explain how the current GND bans fracking, your response is "the GND was watered down". We're just going in circles & it's like talking to a brick wall. That GND has been updated to the more complete legislation for over a year now since summer of 2019. Go through it & find exactly what is "watered down" in it compared to anything Hawkins could've done (but can't because the Greens have absolutely no power whatsoever in Washington anyways so none of this really matters).

The media, Democrats, & Republicans all refer to Bernie's updated version of the GND when they're bashing it as "too expensive" & they're literally referencing the pricing this most recent version sets. The initial resolution didn't even have pricing & barely had any details at all, something people criticized it over at the time. You're acting like the last election cycle & year & a half of debate never happened. The reason AOC endorsed Bernie was because of his adoption of her resolution & updating it as a more complete piece of legislation. If you actually read it, it gives a bullet point on page 21: "Ban fracking and mountaintop removal coalmining" Maybe instead of lobbing ad hominems at everyone in sight, you should educate yourself on the policy specifics.

AOC & Markey unveiled that in 2018. It's already been updated since then by Bernie Sanders into a more complete piece of legislation - something AOC has touted herself. Hawkins is acting like the 2020 primary never happened & we're all still working off AOC's original resolution that was only really a blueprint.
