Biden's "plan", if you can even call it that, was literally nothing like the Green New Deal, it's about 1/20th of the size of the Green New Deal & is an insulting substitute in comparison. The GND is a massive infrastructure deal to upgrade our infrastructure across America, shift us to more renewable options, create a robust system of high speed rails just like Europe already has along with creating millions of good paying jobs in the process. Biden's plan is nothing compared to that, & he likely was never even going to follow through with the scraps he promised (he never talks about it for a reason).

Biden literally never supported the GND. He acted like he "embraced it" after the Primaries to win over the Dem voters that were against him. Even his website said that he was only willing to put aside 1/20th of the funding required to create an infrastructure deal like the Green New Deal. I fucking hate Biden, but it's painful to watch you people play partisan tribal politics just to get a quick point on someone whose very obviously one of the biggest corporatists in the world - Biden likely wasn't even going to do the tiny changes he promised that were already pale imitations of the Green New Deal. Just stop already with this nonsense.

@leobavaria9086 His own plan is negligible compared to the Green New Deal & it's completely useless when compared to the scope of the environmental disaster occurring right now all over the country (and world). His "plan", if you can even believe he was going to do anything, involved setting aside 1/20th of the funding the GND calls for to upgrade our infrastructure, transit (construction of high speed trains like in Europe), & shift towards renewable energy sources that would've offered millions of good paying jobs.

Biden's listed policy on his website is nothing like the Green New Deal. I Support the Green New Deal, & his policy is a joke & insulting in comparison. It sets aside 1/20th of the funding the GND would call for in creating a massive infrastructure deal to upgrade our infrastructure - Biden's is tiny & near negligible in comparison & he likely won't even follow through with anything.

The benefit of the GND is solely for Americans because it does a massive upgrade of US infrastructure & moves us towards renewable energy & mass transit all across the United States, the same way Europe has high speed trains all throughout the continent. Americans are the ones losing out.

i get it High speed transit makes us "socialists" the same way the roads we have now make us socialists (or the train systems we already have, America was built on railroads in case you didn't know). You & everyone else here are massive smooth brains if you really believe public transportation & an infrastructure deal is what creates socialism, or the commenter who literally thinks Europe is able to have modern high speed rails because "Europe has been developed for centuries". Europe & the US hit their industrial era at the same time & if you go to many parts of the US, we already have old outdated AMTRACK everywhere, the idea is to update the systems, but I don't know why I'm even trying to convince anyone here, you've drunk the kool aid so hard that you can't even have a rational discussion about upgrading the trains system in the US, something an elementary schooler could understand.

You literally made the point about how the EU has been around for much longer as if that's actually relevant to why they can have modern high speed public trains & monorails while the US has to deal with a crumbling infrastructure which gets a grade of D- by American Society of Civil Engineers.

i get it Social Democracy is a mixed economy. It's a Capitalist system with a strong social safety net to keep people from falling into poverty & homelessness, what you would refer to as "socialism". By this logic, we already have "socialism" in the United States because apparently any social form of gov't or program is socialism. That would mean Social Security ("Social"), Medicare, Medicaid, all public transportation, roads, bridges, all socialism. The truth is that this is not a black & white issue. You can have a free market for all consumer goods that are not deemed necessary for the survival of citizens, while taking certain industries off the table like healthcare, in which every other 1st world country already has some form of a Single Payer universal healthcare system, while also usually having at least some private companies on the side. The same way we take the construction of major roads & bridges off the table, which are maintained & built by local townships & state gov'ts. If we did not leave this up to the gov't, then every single road would be a toll road just as privately owned turnpikes are tolled. You seem to be at least somewhat knowledgeable if you know what Social Democracy is. You should reanalyze the nuances regarding this subject. Also, I hate to tell you but Joe Biden is simply a corporatist, he does the bidding of corporations & the elite - that is entirely at odds with him believing in any kind of programs that would actually help average workers & the 99%. I don't know where you get your info from about Joe Biden, but it's not accurate at all. I wish it was, but it's not.
