Biggest corporate handout or not, it was literally the ONLY relief Americans received as of yet. Not voting for it would basically look like the situation we're in today where now up to half of all Americans are in serious financial trouble & the gov't isn't moving a finger to even pretend to help

We can throw blame at anyone and everyone, it won't change anything. The objective differences between either side is that the GOP & Trump essentially have the power to do something & provide relief, the Democrats, while they are insufferable, do not have that power - they've already tried to pass a relief bill and Republicans initally agreed upon mostly everything that was in it, such as the 2nd stimulus check, but now are frustratingly touting a skinny bill that literally does nothing for workers (an impressive feat considering the CARES act was already crumbs for workers)

@1massboy "Bernie could’ve stopped the cares act bill in the Senate and force them to separate the Corporate bail out and the bail out of the American people." This is a laughably naive comment. You act like either party listens to Bernie, which, I agree, he's the only one presenting real solutions, while everyone is arguing over crumbs & can't even agree on the tiny differences between their non-solutions. I hate to break it to you, but Bernie doesn't have the power to make them do anything, which was the whole reason he was trying to become president. & that circles back around to my first point - the president & GOP are primarily in control of the government. They could objectively provide relief tomorrow if they wanted to & Trump has a uniquely tight hold on Republicans, more than any other president & party in modern US history. Not to mention Trump has already signaled he's basically able to violate the Constitution to pass monetary spending in the form of executive orders & nobody is going to stop him. They are just not willing to do it. Objectively, the Democrats do not have this power, even if yes they can absolutely do more to argue for real solutions or even the little bit of stimulus checks & crumbs that the gov't is unwilling to part with despite it being nowhere near enough to fix the country.

@gilbertorivera2011 I'm not erasing anything the Democrats have or haven't done, just stating the objective reality of the political situation we're in today. The side that is unwillling to pass relief right now is the GOP who are pushing for a skinny bill that does absolutely nothing. I want to be clear though, my personal opinion about all this is that since day one, the Democrats & Repubilcans "disagreements" have been trivial & insignificant when compared to the ACTUAL solutions that other countries like Germany, France, Canada, Spain etc have enacted months ago. The differences between the GOP & Dems are more noticeable now since the GOP have been pushing for this skinny bill (that I can not stress enough is complete garbage - potentially even a net negative for workers considering it prioritizes liability coverage for big business to protect against worker lawsuits regarding covid or otherwise), but for the majority of this disaster, the two parties have been "debating" over crumbs to give to the people. That's MY opinion, but that doesn't change who objectively has the power to pass a 2nd stimulus check or do ANYTHING aside from fuckall.
