@Nunyabusiness40 Bernie's been in politics for 40+ years & only recently, in the past 4 years, gained marginally decent wealth for being a best-selling author. His taxes are on public record now, you can literally look this shit up.

It's weird that you try to debunk the point by taking an underhanded swipe at Bernie for being a best-selling author in the past 4 years. You should be trying to make a point that the amount of money you have shouldn't matter compared to your policies (FDR came from one of the wealthiest families in New York), but you've already failed at making yourself look principled on the topic.

@dynrgal Or he probably doesn't want to constantly deal with vultures like you claiming he's a hypocrite despite him championing policies that would undoubtedly raise his own taxes.

@alexandrorocca7142 My point is you shouldn't be comparing the amount of wealth at all, especially when it's not even clear if Yang has more or less money than Bernie in actuality. It might matter how they achieved their wealth, but the amount is irrelevant & what's important is whether they're in favor of policies that help people at the expense of their own wealth & own level of comfort in society. Sorry if I jumped to conclusions but there are numerous responses to your open ended comment trying to do gotchas over Bernie's "wealth", while apparently giving Yang a pass for the same thing, despite the source of Bernie's money being 2 recent book deals. He wasn't even wealthy for the 40+ years he's been in politics, & if you look at his taxes, his income has already deflated back to a little above a Senator's salary in recent years.

@roastpork5437 "not actually proposing real policies that actually will 100% take money from the rich is a deceptive tactic" Wtf are you even talking about? He's literally for a top marginal tax rate of 70%+ & the largest wealth tax proposed by a politician in modern politics, a tax that would literally reduce the amount of billionaires in this country by a huge margin. Your comment is woefully ignorant & misinformed.
