  1.  @Hellgrinde  Was thinking the same thing only recently. Netanyahu has propped up Hamas for years in numerous ways to advance his own political agendas. Then there's the fact that he gets corruption charges and does a brazen power grab just a few months ago that upsets the entire country, leading to his Democratic opposition to have almost a double digit lead over him electorally, then suddenly the gov't moves their security away from the southern border for baffling reasons (apparently because of extreme "incompetence") and now Netanyahu has all the cover he needs to remain in power using fear and uncertainty as his tools and hoping he can destroy Hamas to win back political favor. It's all way too fishy and at the very least Netanyahu indiscriminately allowed an attack to happen in some capacity, perhaps he didn't expect it to be as disastrous & deadly as he thought, but like you said, it's wayyy too convenient.
