It's so surreal watching a fictional show like House of Cards, where the president ACTUALLY whips votes and plays politics, and then in real life, intelligent politicking is nearly nonexistent unless its fueled by Fossil Fuel or Israeli dark money.

I get the impression you were likely a supporter or Force the Vote - what you're saying now is like stating "even if all the progressive Congressmembers backed Force the Vote and it inevitably lost, they were only allowed to push Force the Vote because they were given "permission" by Pelosi because it was 100% going to lose". You see where that logic gets you? Not to mention, you're just making shit up about their intentions as if you alone are omniscient. It's incredibly pretentious and ignorant stuff you're spewing. What should matter is their actions and whether they hold the line/do their job; anything outside of their control, like 60 Republicans voting Yay to cancel out their Caucus, is not their fault, nor should it be twisted and lied about that "they only did so because they knew it would fail" - that's straight bullshit.

@Captain-Obvious The fact that you were a supporter of Force the Vote but not their efforts on this bill says it all. You pushed for them to use their leverage previously, but now that they're actually using it now, you make excuses & make up bullshit theories about their intentions. & yes, they ARE using their leverage, they held the line today & because of it, Pelosi had to delay the vote on the bipartisan infrastructure bill cause she didn't have the votes for it to pass. It's beyond hypocritical to support one but not the other, especially when this spending bill actually has chance of passing & is only being blocked by Democratic outcasts like Manchin & Sinema, whereas Force the Vote was a strategy set up for publicity & awareness but was ultimately always going to fail when put to a vote.

We're gonna end up with nothing if no compromise is made. I would rather they somehow try to keep the family tax breaks & corporate tax hikes (cause that doesn't effect the price much), but if they absolutely have to cut provisions to lower the price tag, I would rather they cut them than wind up with nothing. Even having one or two of those provisions or some of the Green Energy initiatives would be huge.

@johnsaville9210 & some factions of leftists will still blame Progressive lawmakers even if they do everything they can to stop it. I've been saying it for a long time, we just don't have the numbers yet. & yeah, you're probably right, Pelosi's likely bringing it to a vote cause she thinks she has enough moderate Republicans to outvote the Progressive Caucus.

They've all signaled that's what they're planning to do with the "bipartisan" plan, so I would put money on the fact that we at least get ~40 votes from the Caucus, or at the very least all the Justice Dems. Will that be enough to cancel out all the Republican votes? Probably not.
