I mean they did talk about that stuff Kyle. They talked about all of it up until the last day when Feinstein revealed the Ford letter. The Republicans just don't care man. They don't care the guy wants to let the president be above the law and they most certainly don't give a shit that he thinks warrantless NSA spying is 'constitutional'. They're not talking about it anymore because they figured the only way to force the Republicans' hands is to do this angle and I agree.

+iiNovaTV - No it won't. They talked about this stuff all the way until the last day when the Democrats revealed the Ford letter. That was their original plan to stop his confirmation based on his shitty ideas. They don't even give a shit that he thinks a president can pardon himself and could lead to a constitutional crisis. They just don't care man. Kyle is being thick here.

Bernie Sanders called for an investigation into if Brett Kavanaugh perjured himself, but at this point the White House would likely limit that investigation too. This whole thing is a fucking sham. The Dems need to come back and expose it for what it is but this is the longest they've gone with having a backbone in years and I feel like we're doomed for a reckoning where they roll over soon.

Yeah I agree. Kyle is being super naive if he thinks talking about his horrible decisions would work. They talked about this stuff all the way up until the last day when the Ford letter was finally released. The Republicans don't give a shit about any of it. They don't even care that Kavanaugh thinks a president should essentially be above the law, which would most definitely cause a constitutional crisis somewhere down the line. They just do not care, and at this point their Republicans voters don't care because they just see it as obstruction at this point and want the 'W'.

+whyamimrpink78 - He's stated on the record in the past that a president should be allowed to pardon himself and he wouldn't answer the question when asked several times during the hearings. Wtf do you call that?

I mean there is room to make all these arguments together. They should be listing off the 101 reasons he shouldn't be on the court, which is potentially what one of them might do when they take it to a final vote. "He believes in warrantless NSA spying (which they likely won't cover), he thinks the president should be able to pardon himself ultimately making himself above the law of the land and causing a constitutional crisis, he's committed perjury several times in the past under the Bush administration, he's committed perjury several times during these hearings, he's, in the past, gave statements during the Bill Clinton hearings on how the crime of perjury should be followed with the harshest punishments, and he's had 3 different sexual assault allegations made against him one including attempted rape and one including reports of gang-rape that he was potentially suspect to."

+jag10 - What politicians in US Congress do you support then? Any?
2
+jag10 - Justice Democrats don't take corporate PAC money, they're better than everyone else, but you clearly just want to scream into a black hole and hate everyone for everything.

I don't think they did ask about the warrantless spying, but if they had, Kavanaugh would've just not answered the question just like he did with the 'pardon the president' questions, which are equally as bad. What do you do when he just doesn't answer and the Republicans claim "this guy checks out".

Yeah he's a real piece of shit. I don't even doubt the truth of that.
1
Yeah I agree. They went over all of his terrible policies before and it was looking like he was going to get confirmed anyways. The Ford letter was released on the last day, so it's pretty apparent that the Republicans just don't care or give a shit about all of the other stuff. "Is he a conservative, Yes he is? that's all that matters".

They also limited the fuck out of the investigation. There are witnesses who are trying to contact the FBI that can't even get in contact with them to give a testimony. I'm pretty sure the White House made it so they're not allowed to go near Mark Judge, the other guy in the room. The whole thing is a sham.

+Hendrik Q - I'm talking about the politicians. The politicians don't give a shit. They could know that Brett Kavanaugh would vote to give Trump executive powers and the ability to pardon himself along with allowing the NSA to expand warrantless spying on Americans and they just wouldn't give a shit. Hell, they don't even give a shit about him potentially (likely) being an attempted rapist and perjuring himself numerous times in a very clear way. The truth is though that Brett Kavanaugh is not the friend of conservatives or anyone else in the working class. You may like him because he might make abortion illegal in your red state, but in addition he's going to work to suppress the vote of poor working class Americans, bust up unions so you never get a decent wage from the corporations fucking you over, and will continue to remove your civil liberties in favor of Big Brother. He's a fucking disaster and the right-wing needs to pay attention to the actual ramifications these pro-corporate and pro-Patriot Act judges have.

If they win back the House (and the Senate) in November, there will be nonstop investigations.

Well the slightly good news is the Republicans are going to be absolutely fucked in the midterms.
