Remember when Bernie Sanders & Joe Biden were polling the same in their match-up polls against Trump, but shitlibs kept trotting out the argument "But the down ballot candidates". Yeah, how did that go?

The bloc that Bernie was going to tap into on a gargantuan scale if given the reins.

Trump screwed up massively with COVID & he screwed up even more on his campaign strategy against Biden. If he would've just been running the same anti-establishment narrative against Biden that he did against Hillary (instead of calling him a Socialist Marxist anarchist BLM fanatic), he would've won as well.

We were all being incredibly honest when we said Bernie was the only one who had a chance of beating Trump before a pandemic hit. Biden would've been slaughtered if not for the pandemic. The economic collapse & pandemic only increased Bernie's chances even more, he would've harnessed the power of the working class in their time of desperation, whereas Biden still just looked like a Hollywood liberal elite selling them snake oil.

@Armando316 "I still think Trump loses even without Covid." The initial matchup polls against Trump before COVID had both Biden & Bernie beating Trump by 3-4 points usually. Trump still likely would've won against Biden if he would've overperformed in the polls the same way he did on election day (in the same way Trump beat Clinton), & if anything, he would've overperformed even more by not bungling COVID prior to the election. Despite Biden's higher favorability compared to Hillary, it's proven that neoliberals like him still underperform in the polls just as Clinton did. If they had run Bernie, I'd say there would've been a much better chance there would've been a secret Bernie vote in the same way there was a secret Trump vote. Populism is more powerful than politicians & pundits give it credit, & it's likely why Trump keeps overperforming when up against Democrats who are offering only small & incremental change. This dynamic was partly proven when all the politicians in swing states running on Medicare for All won their reelections & numerous politicians opposed to it lost their reelections.
