Yes that's exactly what happened. There's so many people applauding Hughes in the comment section, when in reality she literally just ran away from virtually all disagreement the whole time. Go watch her just last year at Politicon and she is an absurd MAGA pro-Trumper who is bashing on progressives on her panels and blaming Millennials for everything. I felt like this was a common theme for many conservatives at Politicon this year though. The ones that didn't back out of their debates basically compromised their real hardcore right-wing ideologies so their opponents wouldn't humiliate them on stage by picking their ideas apart and dissecting them to show everyone that they're actually hallow. Kinda disappointing honestly, because I really wanted to see someone like Ann Coulter or Ben Shapiro's ridiculous ideologies get disassembled by someone like Kyle, Pakman, etc.

She was at Politicon last year trumpeting MAGA pro-Trump ideology pretty hard. I have a feeling that she only changed her ideology here so she wouldn't get eaten alive by Kyle. (and maybe gain her some followers in the meantime because Kyle has a big audience, likely why she accepted the debate).

Yeah I agree. If you've ever seen Hughes in the past (even just at last year's Politicon) she is super pro-Trump and has a MAGA mindset. She definitely tried to come to the table pretending to be a lefty-ish RT personality so she wouldn't get demolished by the slayer of Razor Fists. Smart move on her part, but don't let this fool you that she's actually reasonable. She's just not showing her real ideology here is all. EDIT: Just look at her from last year at Politicon, she's totally unbearable to listen to: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U6U6dVsn6KQ&lc=z22vj1y5nvebfp3r304t1aokgqhplpmg0thugbymhpknrk0h00410.1541529386240421

Can we all just pause for a moment and look at Scottie Nell Hughes compared to her ridiculous stances just last year at Politicon. Just watch her on this panel last year, it's like she did a 180 on every single one of her beliefs this year (or just didn't want to debate Kyle so completely conceded on everything). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U6U6dVsn6KQ&lc=z22vj1y5nvebfp3r304t1aokgqhplpmg0thugbymhpknrk0h00410.1541529386240421

Yeah both Scottie Nell Hughes and Tucker Carlson were like this. Along with the fact that numerous right wingers backed out of their debates (Steven Crowder, Coulter, Candace Owens, etc) and even more turned down debates with Kyle and others, I think it shows a general strength with progressive politics this year. Even fucking Hasan Piker won his debate. The pro-corporate pro-war Trump agenda must be getting at people even in the right-wing if it's this easy to topple their ideology to the point where they're all just agreeing with progressivism.

I don't think it has much to do with the midterms, more about their personal survival and protecting their reputations. They know Kyle and Cenk have the tools to rip their arguments apart (and both of them don't mind bashing both sides to show they're not just political hacks whereas Hughes and Carlson need to still protect Trump and the GOP under any circumstances). It's getting harder and harder to claim that "Trump is a man of the people" when he's just a generic war-mongering president and, in reality, a total plague towards the working class, low-wage workers, unions, and especially people who can't afford healthcare or housing aka 65% of the country.

As far as I can tell, Scottie Nell Hughes basically refused to debate Kyle just like Ann Coulter. She literally just deflected the whole time and avoided any disagreement in the slightest. If you guys don't know, she's a gigantic MAGA Trump supporter, but from how she's acting on stage, you'd think she's a "reasonable person". She's not, she just doesn't want to get humiliated by Kyle on stage. Go watch her from last years Politicon, I guarantee you will not have the same opinion about her being "nice".

Nah seeing him with Coulter would've been WAYYYY better. Hughes wasn't even really debating Kyle, she tried her hardest to not argue with him because she knew she would get hammered by the Kyle Driver. In reality, Hughes is a MAGA pro-Trumper, I saw her last year at Politicon and I can tell not many other people here have. This is a lady who Kyle looked up on Google and she had numerous top pics of her with Trump, Pence, Roger Stone, etc.

Compare this to her ridiculous arguments last year at Politicon. It's like she did a total 180 on all her beliefs. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U6U6dVsn6KQ&lc=z22vj1y5nvebfp3r304t1aokgqhplpmg0thugbymhpknrk0h00410.1541529386240421
