Nah dude. Bernie is where the movement and energy lies. He's said countless times that you need a major movement to push these polices through once he's in the White House. He's planning on trying to get it all at once just like FDR did.

@Clyde illusion You're not even correct on the premise. Kyle has said countless times he fully backs Bernie, that doesn't mean he can't give positive coverage to other progressives.

@tchipz Tyt literally defended her on the anti-gay past stuff and has her on for interviews. It's factually incorrect to say they "smear" her, when, like Kyle, they have only been vocally critical of valid criticisms. Go back and watch Kyle's first segment on Gabbard's announcement and then maybe you will understand.

@thepolishlatinofromphilly9709 I didn't mean to offend, this isn't specifically targeted at you. I've made this point in other threads that people seem to be overlooking other issues in foreign policy and also issues that effect the bigger picture and world stage. Economic equality is not only prevalent in the United States, it's a massive Massive conflict all over the world. 8 people own more wealth than over half of the human population. Climate Change and international class inequality are growing to be the biggest looming threats to humanity and a peaceful way of life. I give Tulsi Gabbard complete credit with giving pinpoint focus on anti-interventionism, but the US's hawkishness and empire is the result of a larger issue with a fundamental problem with our society and how the US effectively monetizes war for profit and in the name of Capitalist goals. I mean, we are literally on the verge of having Donald Trump privatize our army. We need to not only change US politics and our economic system to end our perpetual system of corruption that fuels the endless wars, but we need someone who can combat worldwide economic inequality on a grand scale to stop regimes like Saudi Arabia from rising into power through pure monetary force. In my opinion, Bernie Sanders is the only one who has this spark to even slightly be successful in turning the US and world around from where we are headed now. I think people are completely wrong in casually dismissing Bernie's foreign policy claiming it's 'weak' compared to Tulsi's anti-interventionist rhetoric.

Also, Tulsi is good on hammering away at anti-interventionism, though that is not the only issue of foreign policy. Global economics is also a gigantic factor and how it is deeply embedded into the cycle of endless war, trade and economic maneuvering over other countries is going to matter a lot when strengthening the American economy for workers and ending outsourcing in addition to using economic policy as leverage to achieve deals and compromises like the Iran Deal, ending Israeli Apartheid and peaceful resolutions with North Korea and others. There are a lot more factors in current-day foreign policy than just anti-interventionism, even though it is still very important. I think people are making a mistake in thinking that the only thing that matters in foreign policy is "withdrawing troops" and that's it. I see far too many people casually dismissing Bernie because Tulsi is comparatively making it her primary issue.

@mrbowser1653 I totally agree Gabbard is saying stuff that is really important in the 2020 conversation and she has been doing a good job with swatting down the media's intentions of destroying her message, I just think people have been completely overlooking Bernie's foreign policy and how he's been consistent on it (like all his policies) for 40 years. The one issue where he's probably evolved is with Israel and, in that case, it's for the better. Last year he actually admitted we should be sanctioning Israel for their atrocities at the border. Compare this to Tulsi who has not budged an inch on Israel, but I digress. I think the foreign policy conversation should not just involve the conversation of withdrawing troops, which is a no-brainer for any real progressive in the race, but we also need to talk about the state of global economics and how it's not just the US where we have massive inequality, but the 8 richest people in the world own MORE wealth than half of the human population. Bernie's populist positions and rhetoric aren't just important for America, they're important for the entire world and battling growing world-wide inequality that is completely out-of-control and the catalyst for many of the world's problems including senseless war and the rise of authoritarian figures all over the world.

She undoubtedly focuses on anti-interventionism more and spends most of her time talking about it, but honestly I recently heard someone make the case for why Bernie overall is better on foreign policy as it pertains to the bigger picture. He talks about the global economic struggles and how it plays into worldwide war and inequality among nations and classes. It was a solid case and I think people need to look past just anti-interventionism as a positive when it comes to issues of foreign policy. There are numerous important issues that matter.

@jurgenk5582 Pretty sure someone said that almost a week ago, but yeah I hope she makes it to the debate.

@tchipz Claiming they smear her by "not covering her enough" is not a good argument. Watch Kyle's segment on her announcement and then watch TYT's and TYT was actually primarily defending her while Kyle was almost entirely criticizing her, does that mean Kyle was the one "smearing her" back then? It was in a separate and later video where they came out in defending her anti-gay past from critics in the mainstream media. In fact, they've probably covered Tulsi Gabbard the most out of any presidential candidate aside from Bernie, maybe the same amount of coverage they've given to Warren. I seriously really don't know what the fuck you're doing, it just sounds like you don't watch any of their content and are just criticizing them based on your own personal assumptions.

@jbbatO That interview literally happened an entire month after TYT gave criticism on her stance on torture, how the fuck were they supposed to know what she would say a month later? And the thing on torture IS a valid criticism too, probably the most valid out of anything I've seen. She literally said she would use torture "if I were president".

I'm surprised she actually went for it. She has to know it's only realistically going to hurt her chances, there are still countless deep-blue Democrats who are still in hysteria over Putin. I think she's really just running to push the specific issue of anti-interventionism. Hopefully the DNC doesn't bar her just because they view her as "fringe".
