  2. Man what a fucking douchebag. He brings up 1972 as his example, which was arguably one of the best presidential candidates since FDR. George McGovern was actually a populist candidate and the only reason he lost was because of the Tom Eagleton controversy as his VP pick and people weren't ready to break out of the establishment back then. It's pathetic he would bring up McGovern seeing how George McGovern was actually the best Democrat in their party in the last 70 years. I remember Hunter S. Thompson was a huge supporter of his back in the day and actually claimed he was destined to lose because he was too good for Washington and was above all other politicians, who Hunter Thompson already saw as corrupt pond scum back then before anyone else saw the truth of the political arena. Also, Nixon won instead in 1972 and lasted for a few months before Watergate occurred so we all know how that turned out for the Republicans.
