Can we just be direct about this Kyle? Jimmy Dore had a good idea, but instead of reasonably pushing for it, he's devolved into calling them sellouts for having different perspectives & bullying anyone on Twitter who even slightly disagrees with him. Threatening to "expose" AOC & other leftists as "sellouts" & "compromised" despite the fact that he's been yelling about AOC being a sellout for years now ever since she was sworn in. David Sirota actually believes with leveraging Pelosi's vote but he still got attacked by Dore & the others in his corner. This is some donkey brained shit.

They'd still find ways to fight over irrelevant shit & call each other sellouts over the type of color pen they use to fill out the ballot.

Bernie's busy making sure people actually receive stimulus checks. Don't pretend like he's somewhere sitting on his hands. He also just lobbied hard to secure a union for Amazon workers.

The problem is which are the "moderates"? People insinuating AOC is an example of the "white moderate" that MLK spoke about is some next level holier-than-thouism & gives the up-front impression that she's a bad actor & corrupt.

@dukelee3964 Gets in the way of what? You're not asking AOC & Justice Dems to step aside, you're demanding that they fulfill your own agenda & strategy that would almost certainly have repercussions for them & none for you.

The fact that it's just "symbolic" is why it's so debatable in the first place and makes it a reasonable disagreement on strategy. I am behind leveraging the Speaker vote or not even voting for Pelosi at all, but there are also more immediate ways to help ppl than a symbolic M4A vote that will 100% fail to pass even the House. I'm not sure when people became married to a performative M4A vote as our only concession but there are actually things we could ask for that would substantively improve peoples lives or increase the Left's power in the House. I see too many people setting up the Force the Vote issue as a false dichotomy. Not to mention that the cosponsors of Medicare for All would not be in danger of it passing, so there's basically no reason for them to "expose" themselves like the Force the Vote people are hoping.

The thing is, the Justice Dems are actually principled on the policy & campaign finance (being anti-corruption), the reason AOC & others are getting attacked is because they disagree on a more hostile strategy. This doesn't make them bad actors or "sellouts" & it would be unwise to treat them that way, otherwise they're never going to listen to Left Twitter when Left Twitter is too busy hurling pre-mature insults at them & borderline threats.

Without actually directly addressing the situation, all he's doing is vaguely talking about how communication is a Good thing.

I'm fighting on whichever the side the Vietnamese are on

@Floppitypenguin This is not the right conclusion to come to. The issue people are discussing is not getting in fights over differing political strategies. When it comes to policy, nearly everyone agrees you should be uncompromising on things like Medicare for All, a "gold standard" bill that gets rid of private insurance (that no one likes in the real world & causes death & bankruptcies for hundreds of thousands of workers). You do not need to water your policy down to "gain power". Once you start doing that, that's how you wind up with Romneycare (the ACA) and everything you're fighting for loses its meaning. Not to mention that the PEOPLE are overwhelmingly for these policies. The strategy & type of politics is something that needs to be adjusted & optimized. The policy is already a winning platform & it would be unwise to focus on changing that.
