Doubtful. People are supporting Ben Jealous for his policies and substance of his campaign, not because of the label the media gives him. That was the entire reason why he was fed up with the question. In his response, he even said that too much attention was given to the labels rather than the substance of his platform.

+The Climber Upwards - Exactly. I'm pretty sure that's the entire purpose of Social Democracy. To keep free market opportunity while ensuring that the business sectors focused on human necessity are publicly run and tax funded so they're optimized to meet the lowest cost while providing widespread availability.

Doubtful you ever supported him considering half the shit you said is bullshit. Ben Jealous is in full support of Medicare for All you dumbass. Go to his site and it's the second sentence on there. It says his policies: "a healthcare plan to control costs and provide health insurance to all Marylanders through a Medicare for All system."

He's not a Socialist. It was the entire point of his response. He's for Social Democracy, which is a mix of a free market and expanded social programs. His response was fair considering those reporters already thought he was this foaming at the mouth Communist, so saying he has a history of venture capitalism and leans more towards a free market than a post-Capitalist society helps to frame him more as being for both a free market and Socialism. Again, which is what he IS in favor for.

+Quinn Malecki - I didn't see it as him "running away from the label" at all either. I saw it as Jealous trying to balance the media perspective of him considering he ISN'T a Socialist neither is Bernie Sanders or Ocasio-Cortez. They're for fucking Social Democracy and these reporters can't get a clue about what that actually is. I saw Jealous as just trying to inform them that if anything he leans more towards a free market than he is for "Socialism" as the media would have you believe, but they just kept on hammering away at it after he explained his views very clearly. I'm a little surprised Kyle is giving negative criticism on this especially when he knows full well how frustrating it is to get labeled as a "Socialist" for fear mongering purposes.

Agreed, and it's weird coming from Kyle considering he's constantly making fun of the MSM when they freak out because someone said a "naughty word" on television. Greg Gianforte in Montana body-slammed a reporter when they were asked a question that irritated them and he then won his race even after that. Making Ben Jealous the headlines of today because he said "fuck" to a clearly stupid question is a little ridiculous.

I thought it was fine. I think it was entirely more directed at the media than anyone else who have been ridiculously trigger happy to call anyone with a moral or populist platform somehow "Socialist". He explained how, economically, he leans more towards the free market than blanket post-Capitalist "Socialism", which is the truth, but the reporter just asked it again nearly word for word. I think it was a reasonable reaction because it's what most of us have been saying to people outright calling Ocasio-Cortez and Bernie "Socialists" when we have to constantly explain to people they're for Social Democracy not actual post-Capitalist Socialism. They still don't get it or don't want to get it, which is why the phrase "Are you fucking kidding me?" is essentially a mantra for progressives now.

I disagree entirely. When people label Bernie and Ocasio-Cortez just blanket "Socialists", there are swarms of people who have to constantly repeat the phrases "Good thing they're not actual Socialists then." I think Ben Jealous's point here was that same thing about how we're for fucking Social Democracy and people keep on trying to label us as the extreme. Jealous wants tax cuts for small businesses and to boost Maryland's free market economy, that's not "Socialism". He explains the fact that he's likely more pro-free market than the side that's for stronger social programs and actually gives examples in his record to prove as much and the reporter continues to just smear him as the extreme and won't let it go. I thought Jealous's response to that idiot was fair to say the least and it's exactly how any of us feel when we constantly explain the premise of Social Democracy over and over again and these people just still either don't get it or don't want to get it to remain willfully or intentionally ignorant. Also, I think saying he "loses it" is ridiculous and it's coming from you who constantly makes fun of people who get triggered at "naughty words".

+fishlove69 - I think Trump's proven for the past 2 years that 'naughty language' doesn't fucking matter on the "political stage" anymore

+Amazon Press - Is that why only 36% of Republicans support freedom of press aka the First Amendment? A poll that literally just came out. I'll wait for your response.

+Amazon Price - You can watch it. Secular Talk literally reported on it yesterday. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YO1xNiUBEGs

Your "controlled opposition" are getting attacked and smeared by the MSM press on a daily basis and unfairly attacked to the point where it's silly all because they're a threat to the establishment and status quo. There goes your controlled opposition theory.

Yeah I agree. I didn't like Kyle's take on this at all especially his claim that Ben Jealous "lost it" because he said a "naughty word" to a reporter who was clearly asking a stupid question that she repeated nearly word for word after a long detailed explanation.
