Worst case scenario we have a "runaway convention" where some other across-the-board popular issue is amended like getting rid of daylight time savings. The only issues that are above 80-90% popularity are the duh positions like getting money out of politics.

There's about 97% chance it's now bugged

I think this will be a rare circumstance (among Justice Dems) where the general election will be harder than the primary election. At the moment, Christy Smith has about 0 enthusiasm behind her campaign and she's so entitled that she doesn't even realize she's not even the incumbent in the race. Cenk has been snowballing his popularity just like AOC did, but I think even more so. However, if the Republicans put up a challenger like George Papadopoulos or Michael Cernovich, then I think that would be where the real battle takes place. Cenk is in a purple district that is also pretty wealthy, so it could show to be a challenge. On the other hand, Cenk will directly call out the corruption from his Republican opponents and might even steamroll them just like Christy Smith. I imagine he'll be asking Papadopoulos why he's not in prison right now. I could be wrong about my theory and it's the primary that is the hardest.

Go to 19:27 for the craziest part of the interview

And unlike Bernie in 1970 (screaming into the abyss at an empty House floor), people will actually listen to him in 2020 and he will have a movement behind him & others.

They more likely bugged him. They could've put a tracker on his car without breaking in.

@megakedar In Ojeda's case, the guy had ties to his political opponent and literally tried to run Ojeda over after beating him near to death with brass knuckles. If anything like that ever happens to Cenk, you can bet the entire country would be in uproar over it, specifically all of Bernie's millions & millions of supporters.

More like Cenk's grandson's uncle's father's brother-in-law

I wouldn't be surprised if there were even conservatives on Cenk's side after hearing about what Christy Smith, the DNC and DCCC have been up to.

Either way, Cenk should relentlessly go after the DCCC for breaking their rules and pretending like they ever cared about unity or strengthening Democrats. They only care when it's their guys.

Good question. It depends if the rules had any relation to real campaign finance law or if they themselves were the ones who set up the rules (as a way to feign unity). I have a feeling it is the latter.
3
Just in case they need to cut Cenk's breaks the night before the election (I wish I was joking).

We'd probably be living in the equivalent of Sweden if the Democrats had actually done their job for the last 75 years.

It's not that irregular. I once had a rental car that someone tried to break into once (I guess my car isn't nice enough lol). If you have a somewhat nice looking car, it's a target in the city, especially LA where Cenk lives.

@fgsaramago Our system is shit and people are desperate these days. I know people who have had their entire cars stolen in the past few years. US is only the richest country on Earth for the people at the very top.

Cenk's story about people breaking into both of his cars legit sounds like some Watergate shit

Leadership knows that if you get money out of politics, they can kiss their jobs goodbye. The only thing Pelosi is good at is collecting corrupt money & blocking leftist proposals.

@meredithwhite272 Ending warrantless NSA spying, stopping online data from getting sold without user permission, capping payday loans (or ending the practice entirely) might all be high enough priority for 75% support between the states. Though pretty sure warrantless NSA spying is already illegal, so not sure what you do on that one. Make it doubly illegal? Maybe an amendment to rip up and block legislation like the Patriot Act

Even in that case (if it were to get around the courts), they usually find ways to get around it and transferring money from point A to point B without it technically being from the company itself. Constitutional Amendment is the only surefire way to end the corruption, while things like public financing and legislating like what you just described makes it harder. It's also important to overturn court cases like Citizen's United and Buckley v Valeo or else the courts will keep ruling against those issues. Constitutional Amendment is the only thing that goes around the courts from what I can tell.
