The entire political world doesn't get flipped upside down just because of one election where we got a few progressive Congresswomen in with a brand new group. Anybody who was paying attention knew this shit was bound to happen with both Pelosi and Barbara Lee. We can only hope to keep gaining power and keep doing our best to make sure Pelosi and the blue dog Democrats' power withers away as it has been.

Not a "nihilist", just a simpleton who doesn't understand reality no matter how many times Kyle explains it to him. Nobody disagrees with Jimmy that we need and want a 3rd party, but it's utterly foolish to believe that a brand new party will rise to the top above the Democrats and/or Republicans. Party re-alignments don't just happen like that and they definitely don't happen in our oligarchy that will NEVER allow a 3rd party to gain power. Just look at Tim Canova's race as an Independent. The Greens have been trying for decades and still have never gotten one person in US Congress and maybe have 1 person at the state-level. How much more evidence do you need compared to progressives running in the Dem Party who made record-level gains this midterm election even if it wasn't enough to stop corporate Democrats from remaining leaders of the House, they were still closer than ever to those leadership rolls and now have a seat at a table and equal power on committees for the first time in living memory.

@SWRaptor1 Except for the fact that Bernie (and Tulsi Gabbard) both agree that it's a foolish idea and the best way forward is a takeover of the Democratic Party. Bernie, "the Lincoln of the new party", disagrees with you so I imagine you will proceed to call him a sheepdog and sellout. This is what really bugs me about you guys. You clearly just want to USE Bernie for your own agenda and don't care what his opinion or experience says on the matter. You don't trust him and you don't believe in him (same with Ocasio-Cortez) yet you desperately cry for his help to do your poorly thought out 'new party' idea and whine when he doesn't do the interviews you want. You don't deserve Bernie's support and he doesn't owe you anything. He's always done what's best for the people and best for the future of American workers.

He knows, he just constantly misstates that fact. I've seen other people do the same thing and correct themselves.

Stop acting like a child and making shit up. You say that as if she's personally enriching herself or donors. Being "bribed" when apparently no cash or corruption is involved. Hmmmm.

is a simpleton.

@Catloves997 Kyle proceeds to lay out empirical data, accurate statistics, and counter-arguments that Jimmy Dore never even mentions and somehow he's the "fucking blind" one.
3
You really set yourself up for that one. Is there some magical movement we don't know about where Greens and People's Party candidates are miraculously getting elected into Congress. The amount of bullshit and trash talk from the "new party" people on this page is beyond ridiculous especially when Kyle constantly explains how he supports all routes for political change and doesn't behoove anyone for going the 3rd party route.

Jimmy's been attacking the organization Kyle co-founded and is his brain-child. It's clear Kyle's talk with Jimmy did not get through to Dore one bit, because he just immediately jumped back on the bandwagon of Bernie bashing and attacking Justice Democrats for something they had little control over due to no one to Pelosi's Left standing up. All the newcomers to the House are freshmen and not even allowed to run for Speaker so blaming Ocasio-Cortez, Rhsida Tlaib and others for this is beyond retarded. Barbara Lee is mainly the one who screwed up and got backstabbed, but Jimmy barely even mentioned her in his surface-level ranting and literally said he only cared about "how it looks" and the optics.

@ironassbrown I agree with you that Ron is smarter than Jimmy, however, when he is around Jimmy, he seems to just be a Yes man to everything Jimmy says and challenges nothing that is said. Only time I've ever seen Ron even slightly second-guess Jimmy or disagree with him is when Ocasio-Cortez and numerous progressives won their primaries back in June in one of the biggest nights that progressives had this year. Jimmy literally said "This is a bad thing." and was acting pessimistic as fuck and depressed about it and Ron said "Oh c'mon Jimmy, this is a good start". Like I said, only time I've ever seen Ron have a unique or differing opinion around Dore, but whatever, that's just what I've seen personally.
2
We NEED rank choice voting, because your "new party" idea is garbage without a system that allows a 3rd party to have a chance in the 2 party system. You're literally just ignoring this fact like a child. Not to mention the lack of ballot access in 50 states, a federal matching fund, and no access to debates. Kyle has stated these things countless times now, yet you guys keep harping away at it as if it's a totally golden idea with no flaws whatsoever.
2
Somebody can't do simple math. How many Greens in US Congress? Should we take our chances with the provably far less effective strategy? Why does it always seem like you guys are waiting for the Dems to do something terrible so you can throw this idea out in the open again. Every time, it's like clockwork. Your "new party" idea is never going to get any better, it's just a bad strategy. The Greens have been trying for decades and have never elected a single candidate to US Congress so why the fuck do you think a party with a different label would be any different?
2
@bradleysmith681 So your plan is to gain enough votes that you can make the Democrats compromise hmm? Why in the hell wouldn't we just run with people like Bernie and Ocasio-Cortez and take over the whole damn party instead so we don't NEED to compromise at all.
2
@Catloves997 What you call "scraps" is realistically something progressives have never had in living memory.
1
"The Democrats can't be trusted". Wowwwwww what a fucking Oracle. Kyle has made it clear he supports the all above strategy. I guess Jimmy's gonna go back to attacking Justice Democrats and Bernie, the very thing people were pissed at him for in the first place.
1
Yes, Kyle's a "hack" because he pointed out facts that disprove your poorly thought-out strategy on starting the 33rd national party in America in addition to the 32 other Parties that have 0 representatives in DC. "The Democratic Party is there to defang progressive movements, it happened in the 1930s". Is that why FDR became one of the most progressive presidents of all time and won 4 different presidential terms in a row for being so incredibly popular? Also why we have Social Security and countless infrastructure projects that encompassed the New Deal and economic recovery of America. Or how about how Eisenhower had the corporate tax rate as high as 90% at one point for monopolistic companies making record profits, you're saying those platforms weren't progressive and were actually just a different form of moderate Republican-Lite politics?
1
@Glamuel They have 1 member at the lower state level in all 50 states. And no Lincoln was not a "third party president", the Republican Party became more dominant because the Whig Party completely fell and all the members fractured into the the Democratic Party and several other parties including the Republican. This was almost predominantly due to the issue of slavery at the time. The Republicans lost their first election in 1856, and even in 1860 when they won, it was entirely because there were FOUR parties that were all receiving above 12% or more of the vote in addition to this only happening because the other major party, the Whig Party, had completely fractured and dissolved before the 1856 election even took place. More than that though, the Democratic Party had also fractured into a North Democratic and Southern Democratic parties where they had both split the vote allowing the Constitutional Union and Republican Parties to be competitive in the race. In short, if you want a "new party" to overtake the other 2 parties, you need MASSIVE political discord where you have several fractured parties all vying for the presidency.
1
@Catloves997 Jimmy is constantly attacking Bernie and Justice Democrats. Kyle literally founded the JD organization, so who exactly is "punching left"? Sounds to me you just don't like to hear empirical truths about our political climate, which Kyle laid out in a very logical and rational way. When was the last time or any time EVER that Jimmy addressed the issue of 50 state ballot access, a federal matching fund, being excluded from debates and every obvious obstacle a "new party" would face? Kyle is just saying how it is, like he ALWAYS does. If you don't like it, then go back to the Jimmy D Show where facts have less significance.
1
Because that has been going so well for Antifa. Noam Chomsky has said that "Antifa is gift to Trump and the Republicans".
1
@richardpowell4281 I don't think it's that too big of a deal. The people who know what they're talking about already know his actual meaning when he accidentally says Iraq, and I think he's explained the actual meaning enough times to get the point across to his regular viewership.
1
@TCt83067695 I didn't say I was okay with misstating the facts, I was just saying I didn't think it was a big deal because he clearly means Afghanistan and he's clarified it many other times and in many other videos when he goes into specifics on Barbara Lee.
1
@Catloves997 You're the delusional one. Kyle has only ever done and said what logic dictates and his arguments are ironclad considering he supports all parties. You're the one claiming you ONLY support one single strategy (the provably least effective strategy). The Greens have NEVER gotten one single candidate into US Congress and it's been decades since they've been trying not to mention only having one single politician at the state-level. You're so detached from reality that you might as well be living on the fucking moon.
1
@SWRaptor1 Progressives won 41% of their races. Saying they "only unseated two incumbents" is bullshit framing, we've been over this. They won 41% of their primaries meaning they unseated several Democrats who would've gone onto the general otherwise. Not to mention the countless candidates that won at the state level. There are 120 US House members now that support Medicare for All and 40 members who don't take corporate PAC money. Keep on repeating your talking point. I have no idea what your end goal is besides a #Blexit.
1
@Catloves997 Primaries is how progressives win. Elections are how Democracy works I hate to break it to you.
1
Just willfully ignoring the reality of the situation I see. Ocasio-Cortez was literally protesting in Pelosi's office and opposed her before the choice was between Pelosi and people to her Right, and Ro Khanna just worked with Bernie to propose the "Stop Walmart Act" and a bill to lower prescription drug prices. Your point just hinges on the hope that no one knows the facts of what's going on.
