Wait, is Joe Manchin not the president?

He was saying stuff like this consistently during the BBB negotiations. It's not his fault you don't pay attention

@scroopynooperz9051 Yah the guy who consistently shows up to strikes (and usually helps win them) is just a "sheepdog". It couldn't possibly be because, oh I don't know, he's just one guy fighting, usually alone, in a gov't that aggressively avoids helping working people & gets paid to do it.

He's trying to give a new direction to implement change. BBB failed, so just throwing in the towel for things like childcare and paid sick leave is just straight foolish when you can still take actions to implement those things. Forget about the midterms, what's important is implementing the policy, but even if you take the midterms into consideration, this still hurts Republicans by making them come out publicly and opposing extremely popular issues, not just "The Biden agenda", which was a term conservatives used to constantly give them cover from talking about the specific issues addressed in the BBB bill.

Paid sick leave is honestly just common sense at this point. The pandemic has only made it even more painfully obvious. You're literally just incentivizing sick people to go to work and get other employees sick - what a dumb fucking system.

This really is a great idea when you think about it. A lot of conservatives were just blanketly calling BBB "awful" without really knowing anything in it despite it being "Biden's agenda". Vote on the individual issues themselves like paid sick leave or childcare and there is no more cover for Republicans or conservatives to openly oppose it. They just look like cruel assholes blocking very popular policy.
