@danielshepard2315 You act as if Ukraine and the US are forcing Russia to plan a new offensive against Kiev. I'm all for a peace negotiation, but don't be an idiot and act like this isn't the fault of the people illegally invading a sovereign country, in Europe no less.

@briannerk3373 You guys are becoming a parody of yourselves at this point. If the US were to start funding community bombshelter in D.C., you'd call it "pushing Russia into launching nukes!" - never mind the part about how Russia are objectively the ones invading sovereign European countries.

I think part of the problem is that when someone like Elon Musk offers an idea for an agreement and it's clearly in Russia's favor basically allowing Russia to formally & legally gain several new territories, that's the type of thing that then turns people reflexively against peace negotiations, especially when the Ukrainians hate it so much they're telling Musk directly to go f-k himself. I'd love to see more peace negotiation ideas in the news that include the requirement for Russia to gtfo of Ukraine aside from Crimea.

It's a bit of hyperbole sure, but it is also pretty rational to worry about how Putin would react to what he sees as a military humiliation. He's already invaded a European country, it's not out of question to say that he's gonna escalate even more. Maybe next he'll start blitzkrieging Estonia, or maybe he'll start threatening NATO with the possibility of nukes if they don't cut aid to Ukraine.

@danielshepard2315 You implied it by saying the US are the ones 'escalating' when Russia are the ones actually escalating just as they're the ones who invaded Ukraine in the first place & now even talking about doing a new military offensive on Kiev from Belarus, meanwhile the Ukrainians are just trying to get their lands back while morons continue to gaslight Ukrainians as Nazis, like they don't have the right to resist a foreign illegal invasion. I'm not sure if you consider NATO's nuclear drill 'escalation' but as everyone else is saying, these are done every year, which is why OP said it would be weirder if they didn't do it this year.
