The Barr memo was his biggest blunder. Same with Glenn Greenwald, who basically fell into Barr's trap perfectly. Spreading the word on Fox News and to all Republicans that Trump did nothing wrong, meanwhile the actual report was not out and told a completely different story on Obstruction and multiple crimes laid out in it. By the time the report came out 90% of Republicans already made up their mind and could not be swayed by even Jesus himself.

Why are you talking about Barr as if he was a good faith actor that was simply 'confused'? Kyle, it's plainly obvious to everyone but you that William Barr was setup as AG to mitigate any damages from the report. He did the same exact thing with the Iran Contra Affair. You called out Elliot Abrams on his slimy back-handed fuckery, but you utterly have failed to call out Barr.

A lot of legal red tape and also it's pretty clear Barr had a lot to do with limiting Mueller and his team with various things. The Trump appointed AG was a political hatchetman and veteran of covering up the Iran Contra Affair for Bush Senior and Reagan. After his blatant misrepresentation of the report, you can be assured that he likely did everything in the book to limit the members of the investigation from making any statements about impeachment or insinuating as much to Congress. To this day, members of Congress have yet to see the unredacted version of the report (and may never if Barr buries it well enough). A lot of what's happened has been done by Barr to mitigate damages from the report as much as possible, probably hoping to circumvent impeachment altogether, or at the very least hoping to halt public opinion from getting out of control so members of the Republican party did not turn on Trump if the public unanimously felt impeachment was necessary to uphold the law. What Barr did ultimately worked. After his phony letter, the Republican base overwhelmingly rejected any findings from the actual report and still hold their opinion based on Barr's "summary".
