Bernie's already come to terms with that I think. What he's doing here is just trying to give them valid messaging to save them from their own stupidity and inaction in the midterms. Not like they're even gonna listen to that though.

I don't think he's even weakening his position. He's just recommending valid messaging for the Democrats if they actually want to win in the midterms. That doesn't mean he no longer wants Build Back Better policies and I don't know why Kyle would be insisting that.

@eragon78 It's not a "scapegoat" when the Democrats he's attacking are literally the ones that tanked BBB. It must be frustrating being Bernie and you simply try to recommend a message to keep conservatives from taking over the Senate and House (an outcome that would only hurt chances for future policy goals), and suddenly people are accusing you of giving up on the core issues.

Kyle I think his message has changed simply just because it's now closer to midterms. Voting on the individual proposals was something that should've been done a year ago, they didn't do it then, so why are they going to do it now when they'll just use the midterms as an excuse even if it could be done in 4 months. Bernie's just trying to give them a valid messaging to save them from their own stupidity and inaction, as if they'll listen to him anyways though.

@GreyRock100 Next you'll argue Bernie was jumping for joy over Hillary even though we're all painfully aware just how much that's not true. Politics is a game and you're acting like Bernie actually wanted a neoliberal to win when the literal other option was Trump. You realize he ran against Joe Biden for a reason and was beating him before Super Tuesday and all the candidates joined together with the establishment to stop him. I suppose you'll argue he enjoyed that too though.

Bernie isn't a socialist and it's a mystery why he even insists he's a Democratic Socialist, when all his policies are simply just a counter to crony Capitalism and a corrupt political system. Maybe he personally identifies as a Democratic Socialist, but his platform is that of a Social Democrat at best.
