  4. Afghanistan and Iraq weren't allied with China and Russia like Iran is. It's still a fucking disaster that we've been at war in those countries for 20 years, but it would be nothing like Iran would be like who are already doing military exercises with China and Russia.

The number one mastermind of the Middle East is Saudi Arabia and MBS, coincidentally it's also the country that is home to Sunni fundamentalism aka the faction of Islam that is shared with Al Qaeda, the Taliban and ISIS. Just so happens it's the country the US and Trump have extremely close ties to and sell arms to including nuclear technology recently.

It was only 40 years ago that the US was arming Iran, they overthrew their Democratic government and implemented the Shah, a dictatorship that was in place to hand Iranian oil over to the US and then was later overthrown and replaced with an Islamic theocracy and the Ayatollah. The US is the reason they have a Shia fundamentalist government to begin with, but that's also besides the point because there's 0 concrete evidence that Iran even trained fighters 20 years ago during the height of the Iraq War. The Pentagon's evidence for that claim is right next to their evidence for Iraq and Saddam being in possession of WMDs.
