Manchin and Sinema have already shown they're not going to budge on the spending bill. The only thing Progressives can do is to just kill the bipartisan bill to show they mean business, which is exactly what they're doing.

You should know that what's happening now (killing the bipartisan bill) is unfortunately more than likely the best outcome we can achieve at this point. Manchin and Sinema have proven they're not going to vote for the spending bill & aren't even trying to compromise on it at all - Progressives & their constituents don't even want to compromise any more either anyways, saying $3.5 is the lowest they'd go. So yeah, unfortunately, this looks like it's all we got - kill the bipartisan bill as a 'Fuck You' to the corporate Dems and Reps and show them the Progressives aren't fucking around so maybe they take them more seriously in the future. Considering the spending bill has really great provisions & tax reforms, it's not a great outcome, but it seems like it's all that's left. Hopefully Sinema gets censured & gets a vote of No-Confidence by the Arizona Democratic Party, cause she is a fucking ghoul.

What Dore does is easy, lazy and requires no real commitment. It's easy for someone to sit on the sidelines of our corrupt and broken political system & heckle the people trying their best to change things, then when their efforts fail or go to waste (because our system is corrupt & difficult to change), people like Dore then go "SEE, I was Right all along". It's an easy copout and twisted way to look at electoral politics, especially when so much is at stake nowadays including Climate Change. Checking out of the system or sitting on your hands hoping for a miracle 3rd Party to come along and save the day is not an option when there is far too much at stake in the world.

Right? Imagine if there were enough votes to not only roadblock bad legislation, but we had the votes to actually push through reconciliation bills all on their own.

"Progressives know what needs to be done" - and what is that? All they can do now is just kill the bipartisan bill, which is exactly what they're doing. Manchin and Sinema have proven they don't even want to compromise, so I don't know what you think you're expecting. This is it.

@xamislimelight8965 Your initial comment highly insinuated you were expecting them to win & pass the $3.5 Trillion spending bill considering you literally used a quote regarding 'winning spoils'. My response was simply explaining how that's nigh impossible given Manchin and Sinema's positions. Killing the bipartisan bill is hardly anything to consider a win or spoils but its all that can be done at this point.

Who wants to bet that instead of now trying to work with the Left and compromise on the spending bill, the corporate Dems will instead try to make the bipartisan bill shittier & more conservative so they can try to win over more Republican votes to cancel out the Progressive Caucus.

Unfortunately this is all they can do at this point ie kill the bipartisan bill as a 'Fuck You' to the corporate dems and republicans. Manchin and Sinema have proven they won't vote for the spending bill no matter what and they're not even trying to negotiate on it. If I had to guess, even though Progressives blocked the bipartisan bill, the takeaway won't be to try to negotiate to pass the spending bill, but the corporate Dems will now try to make the bipartisan bill more conservative to try to win over more republican votes to cancel out the Progressive Caucus's roadblock.
