  1. Seems to me there are far more right-wingers and libertarians trying to spotlight this argument than any actual leftists (a fringe amount) who actually believe in open borders. The Right has been strawmanning all leftists on this issue for years, if there are any actual leftists out there that believe in open borders, at least acknowledge that you are hurting our image on an issue that is overwhelmingly unpopular and you do NOT speak for the majority of leftists as right-wingers are trying to use you as the typical strawman.

  2. And you can't let people in without making them go through a process. When I think of Open Borders, that is what I think of and I'm sure what the majority of people think of especially right-wingers.

  3.  @DaglasVegas  Having Open Borders with Canada is fine and makes sense. Having Open Borders with Mexico and through customs does not. Mexico has a million different problems including an epidemic of cartel violence. If you "open the border" you are letting those problems in. How about instead we try to work to reverse the effects the US has on these countries, stop the drug war, and stop toppling Central American governments, THEN we can talk about open borders after the US stops fucking the world up.
