how it ends*

@drago9606 "If that ain’t a climax I don’t know what is" - how about it's the ending of the 2nd Act (cause that's what it actually is). Maybe if the movie ended right there, it would've been "climactic" enough (still constitutes as a BS cliffhanger ending though), but instead it continues for another 45 minutes, sets up the 3rd Act and a big final confrontation and then ends right as the character lineup is heading to the actual climactic battle of the 3rd Act. I don't understand why people are defending this or even think this is acceptable for a movie (a MOVIE, not a TV Show or Series). It just seems like there's some serious dick-riding going on to mental gymnastics this shit so it actually seems genius or isn't just a marketing ploy to make more money with 2 movies that's actually just 1 movie.

It's called Capitalism and Sony getting you to pay for a single movie twice in 2 years. It's cute how you think the intentions behind it are all puppies and rainbows though.

@thefalsekingslayer3717 Yeahh... Glad someone said it. That part was ridiculous that he's pointing a gun at his daughter and just immediately believes she's a murderer of her best friend - imo it felt forced. Also Peter's reasoning for turning into a giant lizard monster was "I just wanted to be special like you". A lot of people laughed at that shit in the theater I was in

@franekkkkk "There was no ENDING but it ended in a logical place. Which is all we can hope" - Wow people are dick-riding super hard over this. The cliffhanger ending was bullshit, the only reason people are putting up with it is because the movie looked visually stunning. Doesn't matter if you think Gwen's arc had an end, Miles' story got cut off right before a fucking climactic battle, that's near unforgivable

@franekkkkk "what fucking battle?" - The cast of the 1st movie literally meet up with Gwen and they all take off to very clearly save Miles parents from both Spot and the rest of the Spidermen trying to preserve the timeline. Not surprised you don't understand the context given you're acting like the bullshit cliffhanger ending was genius or somehow fitting. Imagine if a new Star Wars movie or Avatar movie did this, people would be furious at the producers and find it unforgivable for movies to do cliffhangers like this. I for one don't want Studios making these types of cliffhanger endings a new trend and it's pretty absurd to see people like yourself defending it so vehemently like it's masterful do this annoying shit. They absolutely could've reduced the film to a 3 hour or even 3.5 hour director's cut and it probably would've been better just as the case with the Lord of the Rings trilogy & all 3 movies in that.

@sideslash It's not a kids movie. I honestly wouldn't take any kids younger than 8 to it. There are a lot of intense/violent/scary parts that would've upset most kids age 6 or 7 and below. Teens are obviously the main focus group followed by adults

The cliffhanger ending was bullshit and we all know it. Only reason people are defending it is because the movie was visually stunning. If the sequel comes out and it doesn't measure up, people will inevitably look back on it and see it as shameless greed by Sony. Either way though, we shouldn't just willfully be fine with it otherwise other movies will start doing this shit all the time cause fans just "accept it".

@harshvardhanpatil2837 "I really think the sequel is actually better" - Don't know how anyone can seriously say this with a straight face when you've only seen half the goddamn movie. That's like saying the first half of Godfather 2 is better than Godfather 1.

@sikat. Or paying twice for 1 movie

Yes, the chase scene of the 2nd Act that happened 45 minutes before the movie ended was the "climax". What the fuck is even happening in these comments

@사소한냐냐 You're naive if you think a cliffhanger ending right before the climactic battle was their only option. Firstly, yes, they could've made it a 3 or even 3.5 hour director's cut. They did the same thing for the Lord of the Rings movies and they never had to do a Return of the King Part 1 and Part 2 even though they very well could've for more money. Second, the way they split the movies was dealt with very poorly imo (and many other people's opinions). They shouldn't be cutting the movie off right after the original cast's lineup is introduced and everyone is on their way to a climactic showdown. I'm not a fan of splitting the movies up in the first place considering it's all just one movie, but it would've been far more fitting if they cut if off right after the 2nd Act, not immediately right before the battle of the 3rd Act.

@robbie7150 A sequel will also allow them to effectively make double the money for 1 single movie
