Youtube's too busy demonetizing channels over naughty words to worry about targeting real world scams and threats to children like Onision, Logan Paul, etc. It ends up falling to other Youtubers to self-police, which is pretty pathetic

Seems like Youtube's is always too busy demonetizing channels over naughty words and rigging the algorithm to worry about actual scams and threats against children such as Onision, Logan Paul, etc. It ends up falling to other Youtubers to self-police the platform, which is just pathetic.

@greyfenrir2238 Prob boomers too dense to realize the dangers of Youtube and online rabbit holes for impressionable young women and men

That's creepy as fuck. I hope teenage girls are smarter nowadays and have wised up to the creepy bullshit out there

@zwicker5585 what? That sentence doesn't even make sense.

@zwicker5585 I said that I hope teenage girls are more knowledgeable since the days of Onision, the same way older people have wised up to things like refund scams & social security fraud. There's literally always going to be con-artists out there, & Onision just happened to be targeting teenage girls, that's the objective truth. Your comment was the equivalent to "I hope MEN have wised up to grooming scams and stopped their grooming scams". So happy someone took my innocuous statement where I'm legitimately concerned and turned it into some generalized man-bashing shit though.

@Velereonics True. I just hope society in general has wised up overall, even if it's not teenagers specifically. Maybe they start teaching these kids how to spot this online predatory behavior in schools or maybe Millennial parents are able to spot this kinda stuff and catch it before their children get targeted. The younger the parents, the more cautious they'll likely be with red flags on Youtube and the internet. It also seems like the Youtube self-policing has ramped up over the years - there are numerous channels specifically dedicated to weeding out and targeting borderline criminals, scam-artists, sexual predators, and abusive parents that think they can get famous by exploiting their kids. If I had to estimate, I'd say things are going in a more positive direction, but who knows.
