SBF broke the one golden rule, you don't steal from other wealthy people. If he had just defrauded regular people (as commonly happens on Wall Street, Goldman Sachs, etc), he would've gotten away with it like all the other ultra wealthy crooks.

@thelopper43 I feel pretty bad for his parents. They clearly thought they were raising some sort of prodigy, but their kid turned out to be one of the biggest POS fraudsters on the planet. His own bottomless greed led to his downfall - probably saw Goldman Sachs and the people on Wall Street get away with it for centuries and thought he'd be safe like any other ultra wealthy person in today's society. Though crypto is too new and not grandfathered into the current corrupt financial industry that protects the fraudulent wealthy as a business model.

@Chaoszwaihander3434 Maybe people would be more forgiving of this guy if he gave back all the money he stole. He's still hiding people's stolen money in offshore bank accounts, probably in an attempt to ensure he only gets 15 years in a cushy rich-people's "prison" like what happens to all the other ultra wealthy criminals in America
