  1. Brazil is far closer to a military dictatorship likely because Lula, the opposition, is in fact a Leftist and automatically against fattening their military construct. The only reason we don't have the same militaristic side of politics that they do is because the Democrats, like the Republicans, continue to pump more and more money into the MIC every year no matter what party is in power. I mean, it's kind of a dark way to look at it, but it's probably one small bright side to the Democrats being internally corrupted towards the MIC, even though we really do need a Leftist party that won't just give the military industrial complex everything they want.
