Yang only supports a public option with private insurers still running the market. There's a reason Ojeda says "I hope the person that wins will eventually support UBI".

Yang is still polling at 1%. Unless you want some corporate centrist like Buttigieg or Biden to be president, you should vote strategically, along with the fact that Yang does not support Medicare for All. He recently said he's in the public option camp.

@cerealfamine1 I said nothing about free college, I said he doesn't support Medicare for All, in his last CNN town hall, he said only supports a public option and private insurers in control of the market.

@cerealfamine1 I don't believe any candidate whose saying they support a public option will "eventually" support Medicare for All. It's total bullshit. There are Medicare for All bills right now that already give a plan for a slow transition to a Single Payer system that phase in age groups over certain years. The idea of politicians favoring a few private insurance jobs over 32,000 to 45,000 people who die every year from lack of healthcare is laughable, in addition to the fact that many private insurance companies will become supplemental in the transition, they will still exist, but just for people that opt out of the Single Payer system.

Amen, also it should be supplemental to a fully functioning social safety net that includes Medicare for All. This is why Finland is realistically thinking it over, because they already have these things available.

@Nategodmafia Well you've been lied to on a massive scale then. A single payer system works in virtually every single first world country on the planet. Finland, Sweden, Denmark, France, Japan, Canada, Germany, Australia, Taiwan, Span. Even Israel, a country the US gives massive financial aid to has a single payer system for their citizens. @Nategodmafia The USA has wait times as well, and in our case we prioritize and ration based on wallet size rather than necessity of care. Canada takes care of the sickest people first so if you have cancer that is spreading fast, you will be taken care of near immediately rather than in the US having to wait a month to get the okay from your insurance company. More importantly, 32,000 to 45,000 people die from lack of healthcare in the US, these numbers do not exist in Canada, which tells you all you need to know about our system vs theirs. Also, I'll just point out that the Medicare for All bills in the House and Senate still allow for supplemental private insurance, they just use it so you have to opt-out to get it instead of having a private system where you opt-out for the public option, which is exactly what Yang is saying he supports. Basically the Obamacare private insurance market but with a public option, same as Elizabeth Warren, Pete Buttigieg, Kamala Harris and Cory Booker are pushing for.
