Ahmed and David, Thank you, thank you and thank you. This Dream Team match up was better than I could have imagined!!!! Having two genuine experts share their knowledge and experience with us is a very gracious and generous gift. Did anyone else notice there was not one second of unnecessary 'hype' in the whole video just lots of sound judgment with a healthy dose of enthusiasm! I hope some day you two can take this show on the road across both our countries or perhaps Ahmed can be a guest on David's Automotive Press someday. In regard to people who think their US or Canadian Toyotas are second best, feel free to drop them off outside my house. Just leave the keys and paperwork in my mailbox and I won't charge you a nickel for taking them off your hands. :D

Congratulations on choosing the Hybrid as AMD recently recommended. All Corolla Hybrids sold in our market are currently made in Japan.

@TheCarCareNut My efforts? You guys are the ones doing all the work, I am just firing off suggestions from the last row of the cheap seats. In the rest of Canada we sometimes refer to the coast of British Columbia as 'Lotusland' due to their mild, distinctly non-Salt Belt climate. All in all I am very pleased with this Land Of Lincoln and Lotusland collaboration. :D

Toyota started building cars in the USA in the late 1980s.

The 4Runner shares the Tahara factory with the Lexus GX and Toyota Prado. The full-size Land Cruiser is built in Yoshiwara.

What exactly is wrong with Toyotas from England? What about France where the Yaris and Yaris Cross are produced?

@ParZIVal19D If I could fit inside this generation of Corolla, my first choice would be the hatch with a manual. In other markets the Corolla sedan, hatch and wagon come in automatic, manual and Hybrid. Soon there will be a Corolla Cross, from a brand new factory, to add further choices to our mix. I believe the Cross Hybrid should be here next year.

If you want a Corolla wagon with all wheel drive it is only made in Japan. If you want a slightly larger one with FWD that will come from England. ;-)

@FlatPlaneCranky I only asked because they offered the 4.0 V6 in the Tundra for the first few years. You could even get a manual for a while.
2
@tecnaman9097 I would add that on a good day Mitsubishi is a 3rd tier brand, Subarus have less than half the lifespan of a Toyota and Honda ain't what it used to be. ;-)

@bradchoi9679 Agreed!

I don't think anything made in Portugal meets EU standards.

Did you know your FJ was built by Hino?
1
@anantdabholkar685 Just for fun, research what share of Hino Toyota owned when your FJ was built.
1
Where was your Kluger manufactured?

@py1211 I drive a cloned Matrix (Vibe) which is the closest thing we have had to a Corolla wagon in years. I suspect the upcoming Corolla Cross will be the nearest we will get to a Corolla wagon.

Yes, I think that corporate hubris will come back to haunt them.

Those cars were Toyotas with French badges. The one to watch out for is the Proace van which is a Peugeot with a Toyota badge.

Which engine did you get?

Slight correction, there are unions in Mexico but they are lamer, tamer and even more corrupt than the UAW which recently had a large number of top executives sent to prison. BTW I completely separate the members of the Mexican unions and the UAW from the corrupt stooges who run their unions. Finally, we have two UAW built Toyotas in our family from the former NUMMI factory in Fremont, California . They are just as well made as any other Toyota product which proves inept Big 3 management is the reason for lousy Detroit products not the UAW or its members.

Is it made by Suzuki?

@muhammedk9648 Thanks

Go ahead and get your Corolla Touring Sports without further hesitation.

How many cars with manual transmissions were affected by this problem?
