  4.  @MarzNet256  I used the best oil on the market from the first change and followed the owner's manual oil change intervals during the 5 year warranty period. Now I am in my 13th year of once-per-year oil changes with Amsoil Signature Series oil and their long life filters. It still runs as well as the day I bought it. 😁

  8.  @MrFloydroy  I drive a car that came down the same assembly line as your Prizm. It has had 3 non-scheduled repairs in 17 years. I don't judge Toyota against perfection, I judge them against every other car company. Any error Toyota makes is magnified.

  10.  @scottcarnduff2897  I have a 2005 Vibe with the base 1.8 since it was new and I often considered upgrading to the second generation with the 2.4 . Now I know exactly what would have been involved in dealing with the the piston rings. As far as I know, GM never had a 'program' to monitor or repair the issue.
