AMD, Thanks for the thoughtful and heartfelt analysis of the new RX. ππYou are not the first one to raise concerns about the finicky controls and excess technology. The issues arising from the rough turbo engine may be alleviated by the smoother 350h which is just as quick, far more economical and smoother when the RX is driven in the traditional manner. On the question of safety, you are probably correct to say careful drivers don't need as much safety tech but what do WE do with the aggressive, distracted, impaired and downright dangerous drivers out there? Surely the rest of us deserve to be protected from them by every means possible and that is where technology will come in to play.

Everything about the CCN videos is improving by leaps and bounds.

Toyota and Lexus, You have been warned! From now on when you see AMD stop his video to sit down 40:09 for his final thoughts, you should hang your heads in shame. ππ

The 2023 RX tow rating seems to be around 2,000 pounds for an unbraked trailer.

Most of them are not journalists they are merely marketers. They have no qualifications and are bound by no code of conduct.

Check his back catalogue.

Good choice with the Highlander Hybrid, it is a very impressive accomplishment.

By the time you got home you would be just 3,400 miles from your next 5,000 mile oil change π

If you are buying an RX the 350h is certainly the one to buy. Since the RX is so much more spacious than the NX, I believe the NX should be cross shopped with the Toyota Venza. As you may know, the NX, Venza and RAV4 are built on the same platform with the same wheelbase. If you are going by the judgment of our channel host, I believe his view of the Venza as a 'bargain Lexus' is very, very favorable. In case you missed his Venza video, you can find it in his video listings when you click on The Car Care Nut logo. He also reviewed the new NX 11 months ago and many of the concerns raised here about the RX were common with the NX.

Have you already chosen a deserving family member to inherit your 2020 RX in the event of your passing?
2
He has done TWO videos on the Corolla Cross.

The 350h will have the same issues with excess complexity of controls but the Hybrid drivetrain will be much more efficient, just as powerful and far smoother.

Β @apoc341Β In that case you should be driving your RX for another decade without issues. I change the 2 quarts of Amsoil Gear Lube in my 2005 manual transmission at 5 year intervals which don't exceed 50,000 miles. The Toyota coolant and power steering fluid are done at the same time to keep things simple.
2
Congratulations of the Corolla which I assume is the wagon. Ask the people who have knocked a cyclist off their bike by carelessly opening a door if they would like a second chance.
2
Don't bet on it.
1
Do you do the 'drain and fill' transmission fluid changes with your 2013 RX at 60,000 mile intervals?

The Highlander Hybrid is rated for 3,500 lbs towing and the turbo is rated for 5,000 lbs. They will do the job easily, just change the oil when your 10,000 km journey is completed. π

If you suffer Stockholm Syndrome from a German car what do you get with a Volvo?
1
Have you seen the CBC report about the RX with Ontario plates ending up on the used car lot in Nigeria?
1
Β @lindahicks9932Β You are very welcome! BTW when doing your research you may find waiting times for the Venza are shorter than RX, NX or RAV4 Hybrids. As AMD would say - DON'T PAY OVER MSRP!!!! Happy hunting π

π Gotta love human nature

What did you think of Mr Goose's recent statement about contacting Honda's Corporate Rep to ensure he got his Type R at MSRP because of all the 'promotion' he does for the Honda brand? In contrast, AMD just walked into a Lexus dealer and told them he would not pay over MSRP for the GX.

By most accounts, you have 2 more years to get a V6 4Runner so you might want to stock up on them.
1
Your RX will be good for 15 more years. Who knows what Lexus will be offering in 2038.

The shop is in Homer Glen. I expect they are booked up until March or April but you never know.

350h for me

You could also buy the smoother RX 350H Hybrid.

The only review of the NX 250 seems to be the one of Driving Sports TV which is a totally different type of review.

He did a full video about it.
