Have you seen the 2008 4 cylinder Tacoma in North Carolina with over 1.5 million miles?

AMD, I am glad we got our 1GR-FE 4.0 V6, made in California, USA Tacoma when we did. 😁 Some day I would like to add a manual Tacoma with the 2.7 2TR-FE engine to the family collection 🤩

Unless you really need the truck bed, the 4Runner is a much better option for the same money.

I remember when people used to bring a thermos full of coffee to work. Now they spend 100 bucks a week at coffee shops without even thinking about it.

We will be waiting.

Leave it in drive.

He changed the oil at 1,000 miles with his new Camry and GX.

Some of us are old enough to remember when 99% of trucks were bought by people who actually needed one.

4Runner is an easy answer.

Have you heard abut the 2008 Tacoma in North Carolina with over 1.5 million miles? The owner changed the 2.7 engine at 880,000 miles due to head gasket issues and swapped one from a junk yard.

The Tacoma has NEVER been built in Japan. It established its reputation as an extremely reliable pickup truck when it was built exclusively in California, USA. Tacoma production ended there in 2010. Since that time it has held down the number 1 spot based on production in Texas and Mexico. BTW the Toyota Hilux that everyone raves about is made in Thailand not Japan.

It is bigger than a Hilux but related.

Judging by the shrinking that took place in the new Tundra and Sequoia interiors, I have serious doubts the next Tacoma, 4Runner and GX/Prado will be better than what we have now.

The 2.7 2TR-FE is the best engine Toyota makes.

Bench seats rule especially in trucks!

That engine is not sold in the USA so it will be very difficult to review it unless the Car Care Nut flies to Europe.

Toyota made the interior of the new Tundra, Sequoia and Lexus GX smaller, I hope they don't make the same mistake with Tacoma.

What engine does your 2000 Tundra have?

He has a full video on the Venza .

You will be fine.

@chrisj1667 I am waiting for the next mileage update.

I am certain another dealer will happily take your money.
1
I have a feeling they will keep the 2.7 legend in production for Hilux, Fortuner etc in other markets.

I am always pleased to hear from the manufacturing workers who actually build the cars. How many agency workers are employed at that Kentucky plant? In an article last year I read that Toyota would make them all official Toyota employees and I wonder whether they came through on that promise.

@Bigcountryprojects Thanks for the explanation. We have two older American made Toyotas in the family and they are both excellent. As an American autoworker yourself, you must be sick of the 'experts' in the Comments section demanding their next Toyota be built in Japan.
