  2. Yes, the 2.4 is the exception that proves the rule about reliable Toyota engines.

  3. I feel your pain. I have owned a base Vibe with the ordinary 1.8 engine for 17 years. Many times I considered upgrading to a model with the 2.4. Only in the last couple of years did I learn what a disappointment it would have been.

  6. Toyota took a very cheap approach to the rear suspension of their smaller cars for a decade or two. My 2005 has the same Torture Beam rear suspension.
