  6.  @AustinsCoins  My perception is that for simplicity sake, AMD recommends things known to meet the required standards set out by Toyota. He takes a cautious approach on fluid changes. AMD and I have debated the merits of premium lubricants like Amsoil. We communicate quite often so he knows that for the last 13 years I have only changed my Amsoil Signature Series oil once a year yet we remain on speaking terms. 😉My manual car gets two fresh quarts of Amsoil gear lube every 5 years which is well within the service interval it can handle. The automatic Tacoma in the family is running on Amsoil ATF. With Amsoil gear lube in the differential and transfer case. Like you I am willing to pay a premium price for lubricants to protect my premium Toyota products. I call that being logical and consistent. AMD knows many others will balk at the extra cost so he sets simple, minimum standards at a lower price range. Life's good.

  9. If they sold the Hilux in Canada, I would get mine in the same specification. Ideally I would want a white one with the name TOYOTA spelled in red letters on the tailgate.

  14. We have a 2010 Tacoma with the 4.0 and tow package. If I was you, I would do the simple drain and fill. Don't forget to change the fluid in your differential and transfer case at regular intervals. 😉
