@williamsimkulet7832 I am talking about real life...but I suspect from a much more cynical view point of an older more experienced head...someone who has actually experienced the real world. If you can't comprehend that these are businesses who deal in the area of 'news'....and remaining in business is the first priority, then I am not sure which of us needs to learn about 'the real world'. Fox and CNN....both 'news' and yet target specific demographics They decide if they want to run a 'story'....they can decide not to inform about it, or choose to run the story and still claim to be ethical either way. They can choose to emphasise a specific part of the story, or represent the story differently....and still remain within the ethical confines. The way they do it, the 'spin' it gets depends on their demographic...their customers. Please don't naively use the word 'ethics' as if it is something that guarantees impartiality. These are businesses who pander to their customers...and in ethical manner. Don't confuse 'ethics' with 'morals' Sure...fool yourself, but I know these are businesses first.

Their duty is to the share holders not viewers. News is a business first...not an information service . I am not saying that is ideal, but it is a fact

@williamsimkulet7832 It would be nice if reality was the way it is in idealogical text books...but we live in the real world. Do you think media moguls buy all the media outlets they can, because they just want to provide ethical news services for the public? Really? The first priority of a professional is to get paid...or they are just amateurs. I am not saying this is the best system...but it is the one we have.

@williamsimkulet7832 I agree with what you are saying....except I recognise that main stream media is about the money first - I am not saying it is good, but that is how it is. They pander to their specific audience and selectively report issues. There is room to choose what and how you report or even what you define as 'news worthy'. All of this can and IS done without technically being unethical. News media is BIG business, and those that get audiences in a preferred demographic get paid...so the share holders get paid.

@williamsimkulet7832 I am not accepting or expecting. I was simply stating my view, on the way it I see it IS. ...but thanks for pointing out I am doing a bad job. It was the least you could do.

@williamsimkulet7832 I was being self deprecating...my comment about MY age was about ME. I am sorry you missed the nuance ...and who the heck am I defending, and what American drink have I tasted? ...and who is doing me harm?

@williamsimkulet7832 The purpose of my reply was a request for you to clarify some points They made no sense to me, and I asked you to elaborate. Those were questions...
