Just think, Australia's First Nations societies existed 50,000 years before ancient Egypt. Not 5,000... 50,000 YEARS MIND BLOWING EDIT. If this comment bothers you, then ask yourself why. See below... or don't and save yourself the bother. Note that it is a comment about the perception of time. Let's see what bothers people the most about it.

And Australia 's First Nations predate that society by 50,000 years.

@brucetucker4847 The culture has remained unchanged even until today, in some parts. 50,000 year old rock art is read and maintained to this day.

@micha2909 We get to hear the stories from a living 50,000 year old culture. We witness and take part in "welcome to country" ceremonies as they have been performed for thousands of years. It is quite thought provoking, for those who think about it objectively. Some live even today just as they have for millennia.
22
@micha2909 Is that an acknowledgement that it was indeed consistent? EDIT LATER... Why do you feel the need to attack my accurate trivial fact? Why belittle it? Is it threatening? Is bigotry involved?
20
@fraskf6765 You are entitled to your opinion even if it is nothing more than a dog whistle.

@garymaidman625 "civilisation" is capable of building a dredging machine to keep the mouth of the Murray open after we destroyed the river in less than 200 years. Is that how you judge the success of civilisations?
8
@garymaidman625 50,000 years before Ancient Egypt... 60,000 years. You can do basic addition. Good job. I said societies, not civilisations. If you want to be pedantic, do it properly. You just want to change the wording so you can argue the definition of civilisation as a way to belittle and demean. It seems kind of desperate and a little pathetic.
5
@btd7664 Comparing these time spans to what we think of as 'Ancient History' can mess with perspective sometimes
4
@garymaidman625 I like the part where you claim I am the one picking a fight by simply making an innocuous observation that seems to have hit you deep. More gaslighting.
3
@JarlBarbossa Cope? With what? Huh?
3
@garymaidman625 My comment says societies. You tagged me in this specific thread. Why the gaslighting? What is your aim here? Can you state it?
2
@garymaidman625 Just think Australia's First Nations societies existed 50,000 years before ancient Egypt. Not 5,000... 50,000 YEARS MIND BLOWING Why do you need to try to belittle that interesting piece of innocuous information by attempting to discredit or attack me? Is your issue with the topic, or is it me personally you are targeting?
2
@garymaidman625 All this because I commented about Israel's cases of war crimes before the ICC. Now, you follow me and turn innocent channels' comments into a toxic mess. I get that you don't like that I can speak about International Law, but you need to start considering collateral damage - this channel - when instigating your personal crusade. Show this channel some respect.
2
@JarlBarbossa They lived on land we can't survive on. They didn't clog the mouth of the Murray. I guess it comes down to what metric you are measuring achievement. You just seem intent on belittling.
2
@DragynryderMW Victim? What? How am I a victim? What do you think you know about ne from that post? You try way too hard.
2
@kotzpenner The original comment was just an innocent, interesting thought I shared. The reactions changed everything, so I adjusted.
2
@kotzpenner Pavlov got it wrong. When they answer a dog whistle, you don't reward them with feeding them. You play with them while they salivate, instead.
2
@ThrockmortonSign No. I didn't. But thanks for explaining my feelings to me. It makes complete sense now
2
@ThrockmortonSign And yet, my original comment is still accurate. ... and innocuous. Flail more.
2
@simesaid Thanks for your interest. After reading the first couple of lines, it is clear you, too, like so many before you, have been drawn to the wrong part of my comment. It was merely a comment on the way we call 5,000 years 'Ancient History'. Referencing Australia's Traditional Owners seems to have really drawn a very specific type of attention. It has been illuminating. I wonder if people may have recognised the time perspective of my comment had I mentioned the Kalahari instead. After all, that was the point. I am glad you hung on my every word. I can't say I did the same for your karma farma. ... and thanks for playing.
2
@pinetreepizza Nah... I am saying 50,000 is bigger than 5,000, and even that is confusing for some. How did you have so much difficulty?
2
@theguyof360 No. I didn't at all Why lie?
2
@chaosking911 I know, right? Who would have thought I would encounter such resistance against the idea that 50,000 is bigger than 5,000. Bizarre .. but hilarious? Thanks for playing
2
@CerealMilkk That is a completely normal thing to say to a stranger upon first interaction.
2
@frankvandorp9732 I have always had a point. 50,000 > 5,000 Simple point. Caused much confusion. Now, did you have a point? Hypocrisy, maybe.
2
@SkaterNate1 It's a gift. The Pied Piper had nothing on me.

As all these "ancient" societies rose and fell, the First Nations people of Australia continued just as they had for tens of thousands of years before any of this. This video covers around 6,000 - while in Australia their societies were there 50,000 years before any of that. A true "ancient society" Edit Why are personal attacks allowed, assumptions and accusations of an axe to grind is allowed, but asking what axe that is, will get censored. WHY? It is a choice this channel makes.
1
@JustCrash Well, duh! That's why no one used the word civilisation other than the AKCHTUALLY crowd. Welcome.
1
@cmt6997 Super edgy. Wow! Are you white?
1
@cmt6997 I don't believe you are that stupid.
1
@sentientglitch No one said it was. ... but thanks for playing. 50,000 > 5,000, but we call 5,000 "ancient" It isn't difficult
1
@sentientglitch Is there something I said that you are attempting to dispute? I am not sure if you have a point. Are you?
1
@MatthewSmith-xl5cr That was a very generic answer that will fall over on examination. There is rock art in Arnhem Land maintained and used today that dates back more than 50,000 years, and the story is still told today. Yes, 50,000 years did add more than 300 language variations. With those time scales and distances, of course, people change over time. That isn't some genius insight. However, the changes you claim are not evident. You seem to be attempting to apply Eurocentric archaeological mistakes made when trying to understand history to a current living society able to speak for itself. That said, the point you completely missed was a time scale comparison.
1
@oskarprotzer3000 I hope you will be able to cope.
1
@carlosandleon The question is about who they would call ancient people. The video isn't about architecture and laser light displays.
1
@IM843-SC Ancient Egypt PLUS 50,000. So more than 50,000.
1
@LudwigVaanArthans None of that makes what I said any less accurate. ... but you tried. Why would you that? Did you get a little rush of excitement?
1
@garymaidman625 Extending it to 60,000 years, now talking about 80,000 years does NOT make 50,000 years incorrect. Even your pedantry is flawed.
1
@garymaidman625 Your dog whistle is bad, and you should be embarrassed
1
@baneofbanes Wrong. ... and not as a continuous society. Why are people so keen to dispute my one harmless piece of trivia? Do you find it threatening in some way?
1
@garymaidman625 Nope. Why does it bother you so deeply?
1
@garymaidman625 Why were you so bothered by my trivia? Why are you intent on belittling Australia's First Nations people?
1
@garymaidman625 Show this channel some respect. Your personal crusade should not effect innocent victims.
1
@garymaidman625 I would happily take part in an honest discussion on these topics. However, this personal vendetta you have brought into this channel is clear and obvious harassment. I am a big boy and will happily help feed your family one response at a time at your bosses expense, but this channel doesn't need this toxicity. Show the channel some respect.
1
@garymaidman625 I hope you have a wonderful day and find joy in your life.
1
@garymaidman625 Have a wonderful day.
1
@garymaidman625 Bless your heart
1
@abrvalg321 We are talking about time. You can keep your dog whistle
1
@JarlBarbossa The fact my little expansion on the original exploration of time span has garnered such a virile reaction is truly delicious. No one was upset about time being talked about when it concerned the Egyptians. Why are you so enthusiastic about my comparison? What could it be? What is it about my comment that has attracted such motivated discussions?
