kevin kelly Wineries around Australia are running out of stock. The tariff China put on Aussie wines is the best thing to happen to the industry in years. Thanks, Winnie the pooh.

This hissy fit started with the Huawei ban. All they know is how to advertise their butthurt to the world. That is supposed to show power. I am not sure how highlighting your own soft spot is a sign of strength.

kevin kelly Do you get 50 cents even for such useless posts?
2
@tonysimon6312 Then stop digging it up. You seem to be stuck to this idea that Australia is incapable of doing anything other than digging up stuff and selling it to China.
2
All good. Australia was prosperous long before Mao was killing millions. We built good wealth out supplying the resources China needed for the last 30 years, to sustain their growth. We will be fine long after the CCP has destroyed China from the inside. It's what China does. We'll be right mate. We're a hardy bunch. Cheap wine, beef and seafood just makes for a great Xmas.
2
@bluesky-qu8tg More unfounded claims without a solid example. Seems to be all you have. It appears you have nothing to complain about, but just want to spread hate. Wumao. You know it's obvious, right?
2
kevin kelly Australia was doing fine long before China left the 3rd world. We were fine while Mao was killing millions, and we will be fine while the CCP does likewise.
2
@tonysimon6312 They will stop buying eventually. Do it on Australia's terms...not theirs. Why rely on ore? Value add to the ore and ship steel. Why leave money on the table? Stick to solitaire.
2
@tonysimon6312 Smarter ways of doing it, is currently reaching a point of development that can be scaled up. We can be at the forefront. Seems you are not up to date on emerging smelting technologies. Seems you think you got smart...and decided you didn't need to learn new things

@linlikai84 Yes...it hurts the rich while the average Aussie gets access to cheaper goods. The majority of the population wins, but the rich just miss out on some money grabbing profits.
1
@yellowbird1170 They had businesses long before China crawled out of the 3rd world. They will continue to. ...but if quotas go down, there will be a huge number of people fine with that. Do you understand how overfishing works? China is an expert on that.
1
@bluesky-qu8tg Australia was rich long before Mao, never mind now. There is a reason Australia was already capable of supplying China what it needed, when it decided to leave the 3rd world. Sure, the trade was mutually beneficial, but to credit China with Australia's prosperity is just plain silly.
1
@bluesky-qu8tg Good luck getting high grade coal elsewhere. Enjoy the added shipping costs and lower efficiency. You will need more, at a greater shipping cost, producing more pollution for the citizens. Enjoy.
1
@bluesky-qu8tg They just expect honourable countries to honour their word on a trade agreement. But we learned what the CCPs word is worth watching HK. He should already know better.
1
@bluesky-qu8tg We get it...China is obviously triggered. ...but what exactly triggered China?
1
@bluesky-qu8tg You still haven't managed to say what Australia has done to get you triggered. Lots of words and sayings - but saying nothing at all. Simple question...why the butthurt?
1
@martinbelfort5113 what's your point?
1
@bluesky-qu8tg And you approve Uighurs genocide. I guess that says a LOT about you.
1
@bluesky-qu8tg Here's an idea...I will provide an example, then you do one. The CCP spokesperson said Australia was like gum stuck to his shoe. Now your turn, to give an example. When you run out of examples, you will find your spokesperson alone has provided more than enough for this to be very one sided. If you don't like people speaking badly of others, we have plenty of examples out of China. I'll wait for your example.
1
@yellowbird1170 Then maybe you should have it ready online before you cut off other supply. Then you can get electricity to residents who need it. It's what the civilised world does.
1
@bluesky-qu8tg Are you telling me how to behave? That's very CCP of you. Are you threatening? That's very scared little pampered prince of you. And I laugh at you for your arrogance and over inflated ego. The unfounded co fierce is hilarious.

Those are eggs you are counting...not chickens. Wait till they hatch...
1
Export Duty on all iron ore to China. There is a reason they are not messing with iron...so we should.
1
KimmyDaisyMaltese oh look...butthurt wumao. For the last 35 years, Australia has had plenty to offer China. How easily you forget.
1
KimmyDaisyMaltese You can't see them from China...they aren't giants. Do you actually believe that their are no original owners of the land? That is some serious propaganda you are believing. But it is good to see the CCP recognising the original land owners that have a 50 thousand year claim to the land. It pre-dates any claim the CCP makes in the region.
1
KimmyDaisyMaltese You hear that do you? I must believe that some random wumao in the comments section is privy to future political moves. You can't be so stupid that you think anyone actually believes you know the future moves...can you? How can you not realise you just flinched - don't play poker, your bluffs are bad.
1
@tonysimon6312 Do it smarter...not just give up. The labour requirements are vastly different now to when Australia was producing vast amounts of steel...automation. Renewable power too, making it vastly cheaper. New processes developed. There are alternatives...and we NEED to find them on our terms.
1
@tonysimon6312 Then stop relying on digging up dirt and selling it to China. It's not rocket surgery. Maybe invest in Australian infrastructure. It has worked for China.
1
@tonysimon6312 We made it before. And having our own steel making facilities makes genuine sense now. If it was done with renewable energy, banked up in batteries, made from Australian lithium and other ore deposits, we start building infrastructure and wealth within the country. Look after WWII for an example.
1
@tonysimon6312 We did fine long before Mao was even killing Chinese by the millions. To claim we MUST deal with China is an argument built on a false premise.
1
@tonysimon6312 I know what market forces are. It doesn't mean the markets can't be changed. Businesses will adapt and make money. It is only the incumbent wealth earners that insist on the status quo. Adapt or die.
1
Ronny Lim I am not angry. China is the one acting butthurt and lashing out. What Chinese products were banned?
1
@tonysimon6312 Sure we can if we do it smarter. What do you suggest? Just give up and go home?
1
Alan Lee I am glad you liked it. It's an oldie, but still fun.
1
@tonysimon6312 Yeah, we might have to set up slave labour internment camps to compete. ...or maybe, stop financially supporting that.
