  2. Can we describe both sides as combatants or military. To continue suggesting one is more legitimate than the other by saying one is a bunch of militants with home made weapons, against a properly trained legitimate military sure does add some personal flavour. It may be unintentional ( maybe ) but that shouldn't matter.

  3. The reason we use it is because the US refused manufacturing licences on their weapons. Simple. Anything else is secondary.
