Halsey Walter According to your idea, they must have been successful or we are not having this conversation. Not a very clever theory that makes it look like Trump got beat so bad, and still can't get up.

@Ranger1PresentsVirtualRealms Sure. I live in Australia, as one. Our closest neighbour is NZ, for two. That's just the 2 closest to where I sit now. Need more...?

@Ranger1PresentsVirtualRealms On your point of Trumps shutdown of travel. All he stopped was Chinese nationals arriving from China. Anyone else, of any other nationality could still arrive from China. Chinese people could also arrive from in the US as long as they went via another country. Basically, it was a toothless effort to appease those that look for sound bites over substance. Sure your left wing media used the 'racist' sound bite, based on the fact it only stopped a specific nationality, and only in a limited way - instead of attacking the lack of substance. ...but hey, there are people out there stupid enough to believe it had the possibility to do anything, based on a sound bite. ...I think we get it.

"...with inaction in Febuary"

Halsey Walter How did Bill Gates and a Dr stop Trump from doing what the rest of the world was doing in Febuary to slow the spread? Are you telling me they are more effective in achieving their aim than he is? I am not sure what you are claiming here.

@scottricklaroque7428 Did it stop or even slow the virus? ...it did nothing.

Michel Martinez You have countries that aren't America that are a clear example of what was NOT done in the US. Why do so many American's devolove into lefty-righty US politics when discussing the science behind something affecting the whole world? It seems a little insular to me.
1
@scottricklaroque7428 It isn't about Trump...it is about the US response. Why reduce everything to such unrelated simplistic talking points? So well trained. How is that related to anything I said, other than being a working example of turning a discussion about the science of something effecting the world, into a US lefty-righty thing. Think outside your meta bubble.
1
@SyntheticStuntMan You can't think far enough outside your own US lefty-righty bubble to realise that line is like me trying to banter with you over the Liverpool vs Everton rivalry. Hilary is as relevant to me as Everton is to you.
1
@SyntheticStuntMan And again, look outside your bubble. How other countries deal with the virus influences all others. Isn't that the exact reason the world is dealing with this? Isn't it because of a failure by a government to deal with it effectively initially that has put everyone in the position we are in now? And your understanding of politics outside your own bubble is limited and massively flawed. I would refrain from trying to go there in the future if I were you.

@spasmolytic2 Is China in on the plan?
1
@scottricklaroque7428 Yes. Trump is the current president who is in charge while the pandemic hit. So he is the one who gets assessed for his effort. For me to be critical of his response doesn't mean I need to be a US lefty, or that you need to jump to any other conclusions. I don't automatically agree with a person or disagree with a person based on their political leaning. I use facts. Likewise, I don't automatically assume someone occupies the complete extreme opposite end of the political spectrum, just because we have a different opinion on a talking point. I get information from everywhere and stay informed about things outside the US lefty-righty bubble. Try it.

@scottricklaroque7428 That's it. I'm out. I am just going to throw myself off the edge of flat earth.
