A post in hope...if anyone can, Mark can.
I have tried to find information on the movement of the 47th ( British Regiment ). My great uncle , recently passed, fought in this group.
On ANZAC day he wore his green beret, and walked with others wearing blue and red berets.
They were specially highly trained in multiple disciplines - the original green beret wearers.
He said he didn't take part in D-Day as he had an assignment the day before - I believe he was part of a decoy attack in the days leading up to D-Day.
One time, after some liquid influence, he did tell some stories of close combat fighting - describing taking a guard of a pill box, silently by hand, and the sound of his grenade going off in the pill box.
He needed to explain the horror, so we don't make the same mistakes.
I can not find anything on the 47th, as it appears they were mostly classified operations.
I am sure there are great video ideas in it for everyone, but my asking is far more selfish.
...I had to at least try.
