@dannywlm63 No, you don't slaughter thousands of civilians for the crimes of their leaders, as a way to claim the moral high ground. Your justification appears to have some hypocritical factors about it.

To this day, I can not understand why "bomb or invade" were the only 2 options they could come up with. You would think the effect of the Battle of the Atlantic would highlight the possible effectiveness of a full air and sea blockade of Japan. A good old fashioned siege tactic.

@Romulu5 They did what they chose to do. Big difference. It doesn't take a big man to resort to vengeance wimp.

@phillipwilles849 Their weapons manufacture and fuel refineries were decimated. They may have been self sufficient before the war, but at that late stage, after massive bombings, 2 nukes, naval and aerial annihilation, I am not sure they would be able to maintain a population for long, let alone stage an effective counter.
