  2.  The Irish Italian  Your system is profit driven with profit it's number one priority. Universal Healthcare is medical results driven. A key fundamental difference. To claim others have lesser care is verifiabily false and actually laughable in it ignorance. I would call it arrogance, but that implies substance to the hubris. You would lose nothing, and gain much. Why do you have a problem with that? The liability thing, yeah, that's a US issue to consider.

Just please understand one thing as our potential spokesperson for everyone, that when I first read this comment all those weeks ago, I remember distinctly that I was indeed hungry enough that the thought of a tasty plate of venison was indeed enticing.   11. If you are a smoker with COVID, and have a cardiac arrest while driving, and kill someone and yourself in an accident, while they are on drugs, they will be used in stats as... COVID death x1 Heart disease death x1 Road statistics x2 Drug driving x1 Death related to smoking x1 6 related causes for 2 bodies. This is not something new to do with COVID. If you think it is, then that says more about you than the COVID stats. It is easy to check with available data. Add up all the causes of deaths in a year, and compare it to the number who died...they never match.

I get why it happens, and am in no way against it, but let's not pretend it isn't some nations telling other nations what they can and can't do in their own country. At least be honest with ourselves, about what it really is.

  25.  @alg3221  I tell you what. Here in Australia he would have received world class treatment, as would his relatives. Any prescriptions would have been minimal cost, guaranteed. If he was unable to work he would have been eligible for some form of benefit so as to ensure he was able to support himself. Then, we would be left with a happy healthy fellow member of society, ready to contribute. With a healthy view of their fiscal position, they show confidence in the economy. That is part of how you completely avoid the effects of the GFC...with a strong confident economy not based on debt. Unless your experience with a similar system is different may I suggest stop thinking your imagination is fact.

  33.  @ZacharyBittner I know how we got it. I never said it was pre installed. Neither was his modem he built from scratch. I don't get your point. Most people didn't go through the list of hardware or software he did. To just make that leap in software, but hit every other note along the way did seem odd to me as someone who had similar experiences.

If they did remember then maybe they wouldn't have done it to others. ...but if it wasn't them, then others would have tried. That is not to excuse or justify, but the opposite - to point out how prevalent it has always been. When will we learn...?

I refer to the invention of WiFi itself as a success, without any losers, and took the world with it. You seem to be stuck with associating success with money though. I would call that a limited definition of success.

The real success is that it isn't locked behind EXPENSIVE patents, so the success brought everyone with it. ...but why are you forming an argument against something you know nothing about?
