  2.  The Irish Italian  Your system is profit driven with profit it's number one priority. Universal Healthcare is medical results driven. A key fundamental difference. To claim others have lesser care is verifiabily false and actually laughable in it ignorance. I would call it arrogance, but that implies substance to the hubris. You would lose nothing, and gain much. Why do you have a problem with that? The liability thing, yeah, that's a US issue to consider.

  3.  @alg3221  I tell you what. Here in Australia he would have received world class treatment, as would his relatives. Any prescriptions would have been minimal cost, guaranteed. If he was unable to work he would have been eligible for some form of benefit so as to ensure he was able to support himself. Then, we would be left with a happy healthy fellow member of society, ready to contribute. With a healthy view of their fiscal position, they show confidence in the economy. That is part of how you completely avoid the effects of the GFC...with a strong confident economy not based on debt. Unless your experience with a similar system is different may I suggest stop thinking your imagination is fact.

  4.  The Irish Italian  Did you just claim that the disparity in cost of all services and pharmaceutical, between the US and most western countries is based in the majority on liability laws? ...or did you try to claim that me conceeding a single point of variation in your legal system suddenly validates all of your other inaccuracies regarding medical care around the world? If the medical care is so universally of this high quality you claim, why the heck are so many people looking for liability?
